Ego, The West, Love & Money Caxton Hall, London (England)

“Ego, the West, Love, Money” Public Programme, Caxton Hall, London (UK), 17 July 1978. Shri Mataji: How are you? Better? Seeker: Not too bad Shri Mataji: Not too bad! Everybody improving gradually, isn’t it! How are you Dominic? Dominic: Fine! Shri Mataji: You are always fine! Look at that answer! “Fine” He’s fine since he is born, but the whole world is horrid, isn’t it? (Laughing) For a realised-soul it is so. He feels very surprised the way things are in this world, very much shocked also. How many have come for the first time? Please raise your hands. Yes. Who else? You? Three, four of you? I think if they come in. You too have come for the first time? Seeker: No. Shri Mataji: No? You have got it, you have got it. What about you you have come for the first time? Woman: I came last time. Shri Mataji: Last time? What happened? Did you feel alright? Good! How did you feel? Good, and you were there too? Woman: No. Shri Mataji: No? First time alright. What we can do, those who have come for the first time, should either sit on that side, and it should be quite obvious to see you. And I would like to see their Kundalinis. If you sit that side that should work out. Or in the front would be better. In the front row would be better, should we? I think yes, that would be better so that you give them Read More …

Ask for the Truth London (England)

First Public Program in London, England 20-03-1970  This you must know that I will not tell you that, whatever is not the truth, because I am not here for any political gain, or for  commercial gain. No sir, I am here for your own gain, about genuine.  If you want to gain, be genuine about that.  Now see for yourself if this is the case or not. You can see with your naked eyes – these people have seen – the Kundalini pulsating. You can see it. It pulsates. When people touch my  Feet, in many cases, it pulsates. They have seen it. They are not all liars! And why should they lie? Nothing to gain: no money  –  first of all, that’s cut out. So what is the other thing? This Kundalini rises, and you can see its rising, passes through all these chakras, and it stops at a place where you have a problem. For  the other day we had a very big man from somewhere who came to see  Me, and his Kundalini came up, and was just pulsating here, the [unclear], like that. And the whole of this part was pulsating like that. I mean only that part. So the people asked him,  “Are you all right?” He said, “Yes, I’m all right.”  “But do you have a liver problem?”  “Yes, I have. How do you know?”  You can see it. Kundalini itself is suggesting. It’s pulsating.  So you have to correct the liver, you have Read More …

Spirit, Attention, Mind Finchley Ashram, London (England)

“Spirit, Attention, Mind”, Finchley Ashram, London (UK), 20th February 1978. …and He’s using us as an instrument. Come along! As I have said.  Now Christine had asked me, “What is our surrendering?” And he has asked me if we have a free will or not. All right? You have a free will of your own. Especially human beings have it, not the animals. You have the free will to choose, we can say, good and bad, righteous and unrighteousness. Now, you can choose to surrender, or not to surrender, to His will: to be dominated by your own will. Now, she asked me, “What is the surrender?” Surrendering, as I have been saying, that is to be done in three stages. Especially here in this country where people think, rationalise, analyse; because it’s not easy. If you can do it otherwise, you can do it automatically. Supposing God, Himself, is sort of based according to your certain conceptions. I don’t know what sort of conceptions you have about God, but supposing you have certain conceptions, individual ones. Everyone has individual conceptions for God. And maybe that you see that He’s so Almighty and He’s so great and you just bow to Him without thinking. But that cannot be. So the first one is to surrender by understanding rationally. Nobody is unconscious, nobody is in the subconscious. You are all very conscious as to what you are doing and what’s happening to you. So when you see that the Divine Force Read More …

Deeper Meditation London (England)

“Deeper Meditation”, London, 20 February 1978 Cooly (Tony Paniotou) have you written it down? Shri Mataji: Hello, How are you?  Yogi: Very well, thank you. Shri Mataji: May God bless! You can sit on the chair. Be comfortable.  Yogi: Oh, that’s very kind!  Shri Mataji: Ask Cooly to write it down for him. Yogi: He is doing it. Hello! How are you Douglas? How are you? Douglas Fry: Very well! Shri Mataji: Looking very fine! Just like a flower beautiful! See what beautiful children I have, just like these petals over here. Can you open a window for a while. Just open the window for five minutes. Sit comfortably. Be comfortable, like this. I mean. Yes, be very comfortable. One has to be very, very comfortable, very comfortable. She got it even before she had seen me! Because that shows that it’s flicking in the air. Today I want to tell you about further meditation: how we have to go and how we have to understand ourselves. You see the thing is, so far you have had habits of dealing with things, and your practices: how you have dealt with the worldly problems, with your personal problems, your physical problems, body problems, but now as you have entered into the Kingdom of God and the power of God is flowing through you, you must know that your solutions and your styles have to be different now; that is, you have to put your attention at the disposal of God. Workshop and discourses Finchley Ashram, London (England)

“Workshop and discussions with Shri Mataji,” Finchley Ashram 1  11 November 1977 Tape 1 ( 1977-11-03 Workshop Part 2 Finchley Ashram, 93′, min 43:29 Shri Mataji: See, in the beginning   Sahaja is such a sweet thing that in the beginning it makes you  such that  you get the vibrations alright. And in the beginning it doesn’t give you the feeling of heaviness so much as it would to these people (yogis). It doesn’t make you feel nervous. Because supposing the first day, only, you get a heavy head, you would say, “What sort of a Sahaja Yoga is this one?” See? So it makes you, first of all, [feel] very nice and happy. But then, you see, it makes you also strong! And it makes you a witness. Then, when you start you don’t mind: you just got this in your head, it’s alright “haaa hooo,” but you take it out, you fight it out. It’s like you see it’s training, in a battlefield, and you have to fight the satanic forces, alright? So suddenly you are not exposed to the battlefield, but what they do is to first of all prepare you. First you are hit by a mock sword, so you don’t feel it. Then you strengthen your sword. Better now? Better? They used to be so much frightened, you know!  Everybody coming used to be frightened! They used to be very frightened, now they have become very relaxed! Italian Yogi: (Tells story about something) Shri Mataji: Read More …

Devi Puja: “Our roots have to go down into dharma” Djamel Metouri House, St Albans (England)

“Our roots have to go down into dharma,” Talk at Djamel’s house, St Albans, England, July 6, 1977 So today I want to tell you about purity. That is my name, you know that, Nir-mala. ’Ni’ means ‘no’; ’mala’ means ‘impurities’. The one who has no impurities is Nirmala, and that’s one of the names of Goddess also.  Purity is a quality which is silent. It speaks in silence. It is one of the most non-aggressive activities. It probes into you. It doesn’t express in any way. Even love may express: in words, it may express in action. But this is the one which is expressionless, the purity. And it washes off all that is impure.  You cannot, by rationality, understand how it works out. You have to feel it and know it, that it is working out its process. It’s very delicate. Sometimes it’s flooding also. But is never shocking, never. When I say that, I find the human ideas have become lob-headed (sic). When do we become ‘lob’, means upside down? When we are plunging into something. We are plunging into something where we are going to get destroyed. We are upside-down. This comes out of impurities, that you cannot see things directly in their right perspective.  So let us see what are the things which we think create impurities in us. They say it in two words, you see: lust and greed. In Sanskrit they will say, “kama [erostism], Kanaka [gold]”; woman and gold. But ‘woman’ doesn’t mean, Read More …

Guru Puja: “The promises you have to make” London (England)

Guru Puja, “The Promises You Have To Make” Today is the day of worshipping your guru: that is your Mother. And as I told you, it’s a very unique happening that Mother, Herself, has to become your Guru. And also you know that it is a very difficult task for a Mother to be a guru, because her love is so overflowing that it is difficult for Her to give any discipline to Her children. She cannot discipline her own love, how can she discipline her own children? Being [like] that, the responsibility on the disciples is much more. If the guru is a person who can discipline you without feeling anything hurting to him, he is much more capable, and he can do it. But for a Mother it is a very, very, very difficult, I must say, a very difficult job to be the guru. She does not know how to balance, and She is extremely forgiving because She is the Mother. While the guru, from the very beginning, does not forgive. But mother, till the end, she’ll go to the last end. Even if the child has forsaken her, even if he has beaten her up, even if he’s willing to kill her, still she will be saying that, “My child, are you hurt?” Then the responsibility of the disciples is much more, to see that they do not hurt Her, and they do not take my love for granted. For they must know that they have Read More …

Sahaja Yoga ki Utpatti, The origin of Sahaja Yoga Birla Kreeda Kendra, Mumbai (India)

“The Origin of Sahaja Yoga”, Public program, Birla Sport Center, Bombay (India), 12 July 1973  Love does not have any language, so there are no words to describe it. When our mother loves us, how can she describe her love? Similarly, when God Almighty loved us and created this universe, He had no words to describe His love.  When a human being has prepared their instrument, that’s when they can begin to praise God. I have not been given a particular subject for discussion today by the organisers of the program as we have three days to fully understand everything.  Today I will talk about evolution.  What I say will be hypothetical. All scientific experiments begin with a hypothesis. Hypothesis means: whatever is the discovery of science, that assumption should be presented to the audience, and the truth within that hypothesis is researched. The day that hypothesis is proven, that’s when it is considered a law of science. Similarly, what I say is a hypothesis to you, that can be proven and shown to you all.  Also, all that has been documented and observed in historic documents can prove this hypothesis. But the proof should not be in accepting what is being said in documents or by a certain person but should be in the experience. Today I will talk about evolution. It is the day of “pratham” [beginning] and I will explain the relationship of this day with Sahaja Yoga. It is said that Brahma is beyond evolution, Brahma Read More …
