Mahashivaratri Puja: He is forgiveness personified Pune (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Pune (India), 16 March 2003. Today, we are going to worship, Shri Shiva, Sadashiva. His quality is that, he is forgiveness personified. The amount of forgiveness He has, has helped many of us to exist, Otherwise this world, would have perished. so many would have been finished, because you know what is the condition of human beings. They don’t understand what is wrong, what is right. Apart from that, they cannot forgive. They go on making mistakes, doesn’t matter, But they cannot forgive others. This is what we have to learn from Shri Sadashiva. [Translation from Hindi] Today we are going to worship Shri Sadashiva. His specific nature is that, His capacity to forgive is so much, that no human can compete with Him. He forgives all our mistakes. If He doesn’t, the whole world could have come to an end. Because within him there is a power, with which He can destroy the whole creation. Though forgiveness is His inherent quality, this power of distruction within Him, is active and keeps growing. This same power, with which He forgives, when it matures or rather when it grows in abundance, He can destroy the whole world also. So first of all we need to acquire his quality of forgiveness. For small, insignificant and forgivable matters, We keep fighting. We fight over very petty, unimportant subjects. But He is forgiving to the extent that, He keeps forrgiving until, He reaches the point, From where, the distructive powers within him Read More …

Shri Ganesha Puja: We must respect Mother Earth Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Shri Ganesha Puja. “We Must Respect the Mother Earth,” Cabella (Italy), 25 September 1999. Today we have gathered here to worship Shri Ganesha. You all know what a powerful Deity He is. His power comes from His innocence. When we see small children, we’re automatically compelled towards them and also we want to love them, kiss them, and [have them] be with us. And very innocent they are, extremely innocent. And when we worship Shri Ganesh, we have to know if we have been really innocent or not. These days people have become extremely cunning and they don’t mind any amount of cunning. They play all kinds of cunning games on others who are innocent and simple. They can justify themselves always, that whatever they are doing is the right thing in these modern times when everybody is so cunning. This cunningness can take you to the other extreme of right side, which is very much punishable, in the sense that some people develop all kinds of problems which are physical, you can say. Like, their hands can get paralyzed or their leg can get paralyzed. Also they can have other troubles with their liver treatments and all that. All this comes up. Then to punish them, a disease of a psychosomatic nature might set in.  At this time, when you have these problems, all such people who suffer from the right side should worship Shri Ganesh. For example, these days the life is very, very much busy with all Read More …

Diwali Puja: Wealth & Generosity Nirmala Palace - Nightingale Lane Ashram, London (England)

Diwali puja, London (UK), 14 November 1982. Today we are here, all of us, to celebrate a four day festival called as Diwali. Diwali, it comes from the word ‘dipali’; ‘dipali’ in Sanskrit. The word ‘dipa’ means ‘the lights’, and ‘ali’ means the ‘line’, the ‘rows’. Now, there are many things that have happened during these four days and that’s how it is celebrated with such a great enthusiasm. The first thing is the day of the Lakshmi’s birth. That is the thirteenth day of the moon, “dhanteras’ they call it. [Which] is the real day when Lakshmi was born out of the sea; that’s why She is called as Miriam or Maryam. The word ‘Marie’ or ‘Marine’, also comes from the word ‘sea’. So, She’s born out of the sea. She’s created out of the sea. And the wealth of the sea, so far, thank God, human beings have not yet exploited. But they may, one day, start doing that also. And a lot of wealth is still there, so when people start getting worried about exhausting the Mother Earth, you must know that sea is much more than the Earth is, so nothing is exhausted. Still there is such a lot in reserve for you, and one should not worry [apart, “Thank you”] as to the supply of wealth that can come from the sea. Now, this Lakshmi is the goddess who stands on the lotus. She represents all the well-being, the wealth; the glory of wealth, the Read More …

Talk before Sahasrara Puja Day: Heart must be kept absolutely clean Chelsham Road Ashram, London (England)

Sahasrara Puja – Chelsham Road, London (UK), 4 May 1981 …Such a pleasure to come back to you all.  I was looking forward to it.  I received all your letter and greeting and all that you told.  It was so loving and so encouraging to know about your progress here and when I was really working very, very, very, very hard, I used to think of you and I would put this idea into my mind that a day will come when the prophecy of William Blake* must come. I went to Australia and I was amazed the way miracles took place in that country.  It is said that in the Puranas there was a saint called Thrissanku, who committed some mistake, little mistake and he was sent as the Southern Cross hanging in the air and was told that you must create your own heaven.  And really Australia is heaven, no doubt, but it’s Mooladhara.  It is Mooladhara.  The people are of course getting all the ideas, over read, as we are here.  We have accepted all these also wrong ideas quite a lot.  But somehow I feel it still in the heart of heart, they feel that this may not be correct way of life and they still feel that some off the things we do is not absolutely perfect or is not the thing that we really [unclear]. There are all sorts of gurus in Australia, all sorts of people who have got it.  But basically they Read More …
