In art it is a very good thing to copy what God has created and also to add to it your own feelings and your own angles about a particular scene. An artist sees much more than a normal man can see. A normal impression of any material thing is quite gross. But [an] artist being subtler because of his temperament and because of his own sensitivities he sees much more and deeper things. And he reproduces that which is created by God in a better way; because he exposes those subtleties which a normal human eye cannot see or perceive.
