Now the truth is that we are the Spirit. The Spirit resides in the heart and is the witness of what we do. It does not interfere with our everyday activity, and it is like a flicker of light, but it does not shine in the attention. It is the reflection of the absolute in our heart. And the Kundalini, which I described to you yesterday, which is the pure desire of ascent, is the reflection of the Divine desire within us. And this desire is to be one with the Spirit. In our course of life, we pass through many desires. We seek protection, we seek food at the primitive stage. As we grow, we seek possession and wealth, we seek power. But ultimately we reach a point where we discover that it was a joyless pursuit, because Spirit is the source of joy, which is eternal emitting joy.
