AUTHOR’S NOTE We turn to the next millennium with a vision of a new world, not only a world without war, without artificial boundaries of colour and creed, but also a world ascending towards collective consciousness, collective growth and collective love, thus fulfilling the ancient prophecies. In the present situation we may consider a moon or mars landing as a great advancement, but at a personal level we are still rather backward, bearing a heavy load of a primitive mind, which may be full of greed, hatred, jealousy or fear. One does not become modern by wearing trendy clothes on the outside; our inside has to become modern too. Chapter 1 Though there was a staff of five hundred working under him, it was not enough to wish Jay Bera on his 35th birthday. No one wished him on his birthday. Nobody knew. Preface Actually I did not want to write a book of this kind. I am a person who is in complete joy of Divinity. There is the all pervading joy of Divine love and I wanted everyone to enjoy it. Specially in the West I have seen that there are many seekers of absolute Truth. There are many scientists who have written voluminous books about consciousness, about awareness. One can give a list of them. But all these books really weary you completely, because they do not emit any knowledge of the ultimate truth. I don’t want to criticise them; after all whatever they are doing constitutes honest research. But why not also give a chance to this new discovery which is being made? Why not humble down to see what is beyond this mind which gives you all this artificial intelligence? It is extremely difficult for me to write about the problems of Western life. 1. The Spirit And The Psyche When we are dealing with spiritual or religious subjects, it is difficult to avoid being dogmatic or subjective in some way. This should not be interpreted as a pejorative statement; it is a simple fact that the meaning of the words we use and the very logic of language come from human experience on the plane of the senses, which is by definition different from the other, spiritual plane which we are trying to describe or comment on. Thus, any affirmations which we make when we are referring to concepts of the sensory plane can, in most cases, be tested; but as we move away from the sensory plane towards subtler realms of the mind (ethics or moral, for example), it becomes more and more difficult to test the truth of the assertions or judgements that are made. This difficulty becomes most extreme when the subject is ‘the spiritual realm’, something which points vaguely in a certain direction and does not even cover a concrete area. As Jung commented: ‘Man is incapable of defining a ‘divine’ being. When, with all our intellectual limitations, we call something ‘divine’, we have simply given it a name which may be based on a creed, but never on real proof.’ Even the so-called ‘transpersonal’ psychologists like Maslow, Grof and Wilber among many others, who have translated ‘religious’ concepts into a language more in accord with contemporary rationalism (they refer to ‘expansion of the consciousness’, ‘metaprogramming’, etc.) cannot avoid Read More …

CHAPTER ONE: Sahaja Yoga Saha means “with.” Ja means “born.” Yoga means union with the all-pervading power of divine love. This is a very subtle subject – absolutely valid and can be proved – of our ascent into higher awareness. At the very outset, one has to be a seeker of truth and, with scientific attitude, one should approach the subject. It should be treated respectfully like a hypothesis and, if found by experiments as truth, should be accepted by honest people in the spirit of honesty because this is for one’s total benevolence and for the benevolence of all the world.
