Diwali Puja, 1st Day, Dhanteras [English Translation from Hindi] It is wonderful that we have awakened our powers that had already settled down there and we are lost in our own thoughts. But we have a lot of powers within us and all these powers have been bestowed on us by God. All of say, “God, God,” and everybody knows that He is everywhere, resides everywhere, and witnesses everything. And He witnesses everything we do with great love. Now you have come into His Kingdom. I have to tell you that I felt overjoyed to know that for the past many years, Sahaj Yoga has gained in speed remarkably. It means that people of Delhi have tremendous faith and are very social as well. I have been to so many other places where we had so much publicity, but I can’t say that everywhere people have transformed as much. On this occasion, I am wondering what to say to you people, what subject to speak on. Most of you people are SYs and those who are not, will become. This works out in the same fashion all the time! In the past times, receiving the gift of SY was considered extremely tough but now the times have changed. Speaking before the doctors I think of My college days, while I was also studying medicine but luckily or unluckily our college stopped completely, in Lahore and I had to give up My studies. Not that I had no faith in this western education of medicine but it was a good chance by connecting this to that and understanding what is missing in the western medical education. The missing point is this, that human beings are considered in the medical science as something very individual and not connected with the whole. We are all connected with the whole. But how to convince people that you are all connected with the whole and that you are not singled out? As we are connected with the whole all our problems are connected with the whole, you cannot just consider somebody as the patient of one thing and another patient of another thing, could be that one person who has one trouble, could be having so many other troubles, so many other connections which we do not locate in the western medical science. Life has been so wonderful. sitting here and I was just recalling 7th of April 1947 and I am looking at Her She did seem to be very different from what She was then. I have grown old She doesn’t. At that time the environment of Delhi was such that people were running after power and business people were running after money. I used to think, when all these people will turn towards their spirit? But it was observed that, running after power was fruitless. The power remains only for a short time. Many people come to power, and many others lost their authority. Likewise, people who led their lives, only to earn money also faced similar situation. Because, when we try to go away from the reality, at the end we get the proof that whatever we were running behind, is not the reality. Even in Sahaja Yoga, what I am told, that people are still hankering after money. They think it is a place where they can make some money. I am surprised. This is not the area where you can really work out that. You will be exposed in no time. On the contrary, if you people are worried about your powers in Sahaja Yoga, as leaders and deputy leaders and I don’t know what else, then also you are sadly mistaken. Human beings, I was surprised, are how anxious in those difficult times to get to the truth; because very difficult to carry on with the truth, when there’s untruth all along. And the way people get after you when you talk of truth, is also a very hazardous task to fight them those who are just always going to cruelties, to untruth, to aggressiveness. So he said that you should take to yoga, you should take to [UNCLEAR gana] to knowledge and which is a very dry idea, I think, very dry idea. And they said ‘No we don’t have to do your…we are already one with Him. We are in His body and His in our body. We are absolutely one so there is no need for us to take, take to yoga’. Today we have assembled here to worship Shri Maha Deva, Shri Shiva Shankar. In the name of Shankarji, many organizations have come up in this world. Because of Adi Shankaracharya’s emphasis, worshipping ShivJi became very popular among people. And in South India, two types of sects came up: one which were called Shaivites, and the others were called Vaishnavites. Now Shaivites are the worshippers of Lord Shiva, and the Vaishnavites worship Lord Vishnu. In our country we are experts in creating divisions. We divide the Deities as well; and when we try to integrate them, then things become even worse. For example, a new thing has come up, called Ayyappa. It is a very wrong thing. And in that it is shown, that when Lord Vishnu assumed the form of “Mohini”, then she got a child from Lord Shiva. How is it even possible? Such wrong ideas are created and widespread in our country, and then different beliefs groups are formed based on these ideas. When Indians find some or other reason to fight, they become very happy. Talk on NGO, Delhi (India), 13 February 1999. We have started one NGO for destitute women and children; plus, we’ll be having a hospital here. As you know, we have one in… good hospital in Belapur, near Vashi in New Bombay. And this hospital will be in Noida. [Applause] Today, you’ll be happy to know that we have now got the land in Noida and we are going to start our work there. You… whatever you want to contribute for NGO, you are allowed to contribute and we have a very good team of people who want to work it out. This is something… I thought that we must have, also, our attention for people who are in great trouble around us. So, this NGO will work for women who are left by their husbands, by their family – who has nobody to look after – and also their children. Still I have not made the whole plans.
