Concert & Inauguration of Vaitarna Music Academy Vaitarna (India)

Inauguration speech for the opening of the new Music Academy (transcr. only English part). Vaitarna (India), 1 January 2003. I’m sorry I spoke in Hindi language, because to talk about My father in any other language is very difficult, though he was a master of English language and he used to read a lot. He had a big library of his own where I also learned English, because my medium of instruction was Marathi. I’d never studied Hindi or English. But because of his library, because I was very fond of reading, I picked up English, whatever it is, and also Hindi. Now they all say I speak very good English and very good Hindi, I am surprised, because to Me they were foreign languages. And when I did my matriculation also, I had a very small book of English, and for inter-science also I had a very small book. And in the medical college of course there was no question of any language, but because I used to read a lot. So I would suggest to all of you to read, read more. But don’t read nonsensical books, very good famous books you must read. That’s how I developed my language, and I had to do so well. By reading that, I could know also so much about the human failings. I didn’t know human beings have those failings, I didn’t know. I was absolutely beyond them. After reading everything, I came to know that there are human beings, Read More …

Puja Talk, Ascent Vaitarna (India)

Puja Talk, India Tour. Vaitharna (India), 3 December 1988. This program has been arranged by Vaitharna and Bombay Sahaja Yogis to welcome you all to India. Give them a hand. (Applause) All the way you all have travelled to come to this Holy Land, I should say, for your spiritual growth. Every country has been blessed by God Almighty, it’s not only that India is a specially blessed one. But the people in India are definitely are very much blessed that they are even blind to seeking. They are not seeking as you people are seeking. This is their big problem. Because they think that they know everything about God and they don’t have to bother, while you are really seekers of Truth – no doubt about it. And the way you are seeking, the way you have jumped into the ocean of joy and the way you are dancing today has really filled My heart with tremendous gratitude towards you. Even to receive the blessings, you have to have people with open hearts, with wisdom, with love, with feeling of collectivity and humanity. Unless and until you are of that quality, it’s impossible to make you work-out Sahaja Yoga in this way. My own experience of you all is this that you people are growing very fast. And that’s how Sahaja Yoga is manifesting even faster sometimes through you, people. And when you tell Me what miracles you have met and what all the good things have happened to Read More …

Shri Bhoomi Devi Puja: The Land of Yoga Vaitarna (India)

Puja on the shores of Vaitarna river, India Tour, December 15th, 1985 English Transcript We have come to the land of Yoga and in Yoga one has to receive the blessings of peace and truth. So this land is the land where peace must reside. And you are the one who are going to create that atmosphere of peace, here and abroad. The nature in this land, or in any land, is very congenial to the divine happenings. First they told me that in this place it will be very cold and all of you will have to wear sweaters, but when I came here I was really perspiring. So how nature has also welcomed Me! In India, it being a very unsophisticated, simple and ancient country, the vibrations are felt with great ease and it has maintained its holiness. But the people from this country, who believed in the holiness of the atmosphere, by leading a holy life, have taken to many things which may not keep the same level of holiness. Never, in the history of this country also, so many saints have opted on this holy land.Today you all have come here to enjoy the gift, the warmth of the love of the Divine, and also to emit and manifest that love in your own country. I have to request you for one thing, that the culture of this country is bound by the spiritual consideration, by the consideration that ultimately, we have to ascend. Of course, now Read More …

Procession and Public Address Vaitarna (India)

Music, dance, Public Address at Vaitarna Temple (Marathi/English). Vaitarna (India), 18 February 1984. [About the video: The first 15 minutes of this recording covers Sahaja Yogis on India tour and locals preparing for Shri Mataji’s arrival at Vaitarna (a small picturesque village situated at Vaitarna river near Mumbai, which is also a source of water to the city). This is followed by a 30-minute video of a public procession with Sahaja Yogis and the locals of Vaitarna village. Shri Mataji’s arrival is followed by a joyful and vibrant public procession with Shri Mataji sitting in a bullock cart, that is festooned with plantain leaves to form a canopy. In front, a band of village musicians provide musical accompaniment with simple pipes and drums that are typical to tribal and small rural settlements in Maharashtra. Sahaja Yogis, school children and adults from Vaitarna walk and dance in front of Shri Mataji. Schoolgirls perform “lezim” (a traditional group march with handheld tambourine type of instrument). Village boys chant “Jai Shri Mataji” putting all their heart and soul in it. Slogans, chants and songs in praise of Shri Mataji are heard in the twilight setting. Women perform “fugdi” and “zimma” (traditional dances) and touring Sahaja Yoginis also join in. Sahaja Yogis sing “Gondhal” and “Amhi Bi Ghadalo” with the procession. Shri Mataji is seated completely at ease in the bullock cart as the procession moves through winding slopes, unpaved paths and small tar roads. Mother is smiling throughout the procession, occasionally giving instructions Read More …

Shri Chandrama Puja Vaitarna (India)

Shri Chandrama Puja, Vaitarna (India), 18 February 1984. [Shri Mataji speaks in English] To organize. Yes, but I praise Indians very much and I also praise with you. But we have certain very bad qualities, and one of them is that we are very extremely untidy people. Our aesthetics are so horribly made that we don’t understand the difference between a plastic bag and a silver jug, such jumbled up things we have. And I think I would request you to insist on arranging things yourself, because then they will pick up and learn things that it is to be done. You have to learn a lot of things from them, but they have to also learn some things from you, and they are very important things. Because it all makes coefficients, it makes an atmosphere and a pleasing thing for the gods. But this is the character of an Indian, Indian character, that whatever is wrong where, whatever is the condition, carry on. See no evil, speak no evil – it’s like that. If anything is bad, let it be as it is. Let it rust, let it absolutely till it becomes so rotten that it is going to fall on your head, then you may put a little support. That’s our character. We’re too tolerant with everything, and that has led us to this kind of incapacity to work. But if you see the Ritambhara PrAgnya, see the Ritambhara PrAgnya, how she works, how she beautifully does everything, Read More …

Spontaneous Talk Vaitarna (India)

1984-0118 Spontaneous Talk, Vaitarna (…unclear…) so anybody does like that, remind it, that’s the problem is this is a very different style of life they’ll never, have you ever heard any Indian shouting at you? See it’s a very different style of life, try to understand that, they have to say then they will just go and tell them, whisper in the ears that please don’t talk and they will keep quiet. But then if you shout anyone, if you shout, shouting is not Indian style have you heard anybody shouting, that’s what it is, I’ve seen that like French also they really quarrel all the time, when they talk to each other …the feel is like ho ho ho ho going on and I used to say how can it be ! They said we talk like that Mother. Nobody minds it. They used to this kind of thing one talks with pretension another talks disputation. So one has to understand the system is good in this country is not (..unclear…). As far as possible to keep your temper within control, your tongue within control, your vishuddhi – especially the right vishuddhi should be kept in proper control. Now, this sweetness and the mildness and a very soothing behaviour is an expression of love. As you go deep down within yourself into a subtler being, you’ll find a smooth movement of your SAP of the Kundalini which is nourishing. It’s not volcanic, it is not traumatic, it doesn’t come Read More …

Devi Puja: Keep Your Mother Pleased Vaitarna (India)

“Keep Your Mother Pleased”, Devi Puja, Vaitarna (India), 21 January 1983. So now we are coming to the end of our first half tour. Now we have to look back upon ourselves and try to find out what have we achieved out of this. We must understand that Sahaja Yoga is not done through brain activities. Like many people think that if you just tell yourself, “You have to be like this”, it will work out. If you have to all the time inform yourself that, “Oh, you must get rid of a particular problem”, you’ll be all right. Or some people think that if they tell somebody, that “This is wrong with you and you should get well”, it will be all right. It is not so. Because Sahaja Yoga does not work on mental level. It works on spiritual level which is a much higher level than the mental level. So what you have to do is to understand how to correct your chakras. And you must understand how to work out your machines. Perhaps people still live on mental level and try to solve problems on mental level. And that’s why all the problems start coming out. Now, if you have a problem with any chakras or there is anything catching or you find that there’s something wrong with you, no use working it out on any other level but spiritual level. Some people believe that if they have dressed up like something or if they outwardly behave Read More …
