Upto how many people? No one knows. But I have understood its Principle. Can there be any Principle of love? Love has no Principle.Like an all encompassing divine halo, love has spread far and wide. We have no awareness of it. We do not know it. But the love of the Almighty has spread to the entire creation, the whole world. Only after getting your Self Realisation you can experience this. You can know this. That this is love. This is the love of God. God’s energy is only Love. It is only the energy of Love that becomes effective. We are not able to understand this. To hate someone; to harbour enmity with someone; to wish evil on someone; to fight with someone. This is very low and mean. You are a Sahaja Yogi. In your heart you should only feel love. Yesterday, as I told you, you have to find out about yourself. Just try to find out also, as you love me, how much you can love others. It will be much easier to find out through introspection how much you love others and how much you care for others. If that happens, many problems of Sahaja Yoga will be solved in no time. Even in Sahaja Yoga, what I am told, that people are still hankering after money. They think it is a place where they can make some money. I am surprised. This is not the area where you can really work out that. You will be exposed in no time. On the contrary, if you people are worried about your powers in Sahaja Yoga, as leaders and deputy leaders and I don’t know what else, then also you are sadly mistaken. But, you all were singing songs here, I thought some people who did not get the chance to sing, also got the chance. Everything is going on well. But, when the whole world sleeps, then a Sahaja Yogi is awake, and when the world is awake a Sahaja Yogi sleeps. It means that the things towards which Sahaja Yogis are inclined, other people are not inclined towards them. They are inclined towards other things. In some way or the other, they face away from the truth. Meaning, some are caught up with money, some are caught up with power. Human beings get caught up with one or the other hassle, and get completely lost. They get away from the truth, their attention does not go towards truth. Seeing this I think what have I done that you are showing so much love. Today I am going to tell you a very unusual fact, that this notion within us which we call as mind, is a myth. The myth being, that when we are born, there is no such thing as mind within us. As we gradually start performing actions, the outward reactions are of two kinds. Either something becomes an impression or experience; or a consciousness of being the doer (ego) gets awakened within us. Then from those come the tendencies which accumulate inside us like bubbles of thoughts, which create an artificial or bogus institution, which is so limited that they cannot comprehend the beauty, glory and expanse of reality. All these things are created by us, and then we become slaves of it. For example we created the watch, and now we have become complete slaves of it. Many people who really have achieved a very great height in their spiritual life did not need a birthday. But every day they felt it’s a birthday to start, to go ahead, to understand, to learn. Every day is a New Year for them. In our own life we see that our surroundings change very slowly. Sometimes it is shocking; sometimes you are surprised how the surroundings are not changing. Birthday Puja. Melbourne (Australia), 17 March 1985. I am very joyous today to see all of you celebrating my birthday as well as having the national programme same day. It’s a good combination we have in the month of March. It’s regarded as springtime in India – madhumas (मधुमास). That’s what you sing, madhumas. And as you know 21st March is the equinox, so it is a balance and also the centre of all the signs you have in the horoscope. So many centres I had to achieve and also I was born on the Tropic of Cancer as you are on the Tropic of Capricorn, and Ayers Rock is on the Tropic of Capricorn – just in the centre. So, so many combinations had to be worked out. So the principle of ascent is to be in the centre, to be in the balance, to be in the maryadas of the centre, to be in the boundaries of the centre, is the principle. So what happens when we do not keep to the boundaries, to the maryadas? Then we get caught up. If we keep to maryadas we can never be caught up. It is no longer a birthday after the age of sixty years, but but one should remember that the life is getting shorter day by day and hence the progress (in Sahaja Yoga) should also be correspondingly faster. It is a matter of joy that you have celebrated my birthday with so much enthusiasm. There was so much enthusiasiasm and love. I was overjoyed.Sahaja Yogis have to work (for Sahaja yoga) while leading the worldly lives. They have to look after their children, households, and parents while practicing Sahaja Yoga. I also do the same. I also take care of the world (as a family) while looking after my family, my brothers and sisters, all the relations and my husband. No one should be left aside. So, it is a very difficult task (to manage both). Many people have always asked me that why God created this Universe. Of course, we are not supposed to ask questions to God. It’s easy to ask questions to Mataji when She is giving a lecture. But God is a person who is beyond questions. And why He created Universe is something like why I wore all these ornaments. As I am not habituated of wearing ornaments, but I have to do it. I have to do it just to please you people, or we can say that God created this earth, just to please His own children, just to make them happy, just to make them enter into the Kingdom of God, to give all that what He has got. This is the Mooladhar Chakra where resides Shri Ganesh, of this world. How important it is to keep this centre awakened within us. The information about my coming can only be broadcasted from this centre: then the world Kundalini is going to rise. When you are putting your hands towards me then the Divine love passes through your fingers, goes down through your Ida and Pingala and informs Shri Ganesha about my presence; and then the Kundalini rises. Human beings also, express their gratitude. Expression of gratitude and love is done in different, different ways in different countries, but the substance remains the same and the forms change. Birthday Puja. Mumbai, Maharashtra (India). 21 March 1979. My heart is overwhelmed. Till date, this birthday has been regularly celebrated in Bombay [former name for Mumbai]. Had to work really hard in Bombay; had to work the most, here. People often ask me, “Mother, why do you need to work so much in Bombay?” Initially, I stayed here, and, then I felt that there is so much work that can be done in Bombay. However, some shadows are cast over Bombay. Now in Delhi, even less work amounts to a lot more. Lot of work has been done in villages too. Undoubtedly, thousands have got their realization. A lot of work has been done, even in a city like London. But, people of Bombay have an ominous shadow cast upon them. I think they are too indulged in materialism. Strangely, we have worked the most in Bombay and yet have the least number of Sahaja Yogis here. Can’t find a reason for this. Often, I contemplate, especially when people question me, “Mother, why do you devote so much time in Bombay? Why is Bombay so special?”, although I am quite wary of cities.
