Evening Program and Talk, Eve of Diwali Puja Delphi, Camping Apollon (Greece)

Talk during Evening Program Day, Delphi, Greece 2, 06/11/1999 So first of all, I wish you all a very happy Diwali and a prosperous whole year, after this New year day. [Applause] The whole program, I must say, was overwhelmingly joyous and happy and such beautiful words have been said about enlightenment. You don’t know how happy I feel to see you all develop your enlightenment into such a joyful establishment of a, absolutely, a new generation of people. Tomorrow of course, I’ll tell you about Greece and about Adi Shakti. But today’s program, one after another, started expressing your higher awareness in everything. Of course, to begin with, we had very good groups from Benin and – who I have seen there? Sahaja Yogini: Ivory Coast. Shri Mataji: Hum? Sahaja Yogini: Ivory Coast. Shri Mataji: Ah! I always, I don’t know why, I forget this name “Ivory Coast”. I’ve been there, once, I’ve been there. And somehow, Ivory Coast, I don’t know why, it makes me feel that it is a place where people are like Ivory and their hearts are shining and glimmering with the hope for Me and for the whole world at large. I’m so overwhelmed that I don’t know what to say about everything. Then, the dramas that you had, the first one was so touching and so much realistic and the feelings that you have for India also made Me really crying with joy. I never expected that the sacrifices of these great men Read More …

Diwali Evening Program and Talk Delphi, Camping Apollon (Greece)

Evening Program Day 1, Delphi, Camping Apollon, 05/11/1999 Gregoire: Shri Mataji, about fifteen years ago, some of us wanted to seek the blessing of having a puja in Delphi and I remember we had prepared the program but it was not then to be. It was to be now. This is the last puja in the occident, in the west, and it is the last puja in the west in this second millennium Shri Mataji, and it feels like long time back you opened a page in Delphi and now you are closing a page, opening a new chapter of world history. Of course, we are still completely baffled at your mystery and completely fascinated by your magic Shri Mataji. We do not understand anything, but we feel that this moment is completely historical. And in the Greek civilisation, there were two trains: one Apollonian towards the heavens and the light and the other one Dionysian, more earthly and much more ambiguous. But, basically, it was right side and left side and the whole Apollonian, the whole development of the right side, somehow, was initiated in Greece and we pray that now, both right side and left side will be brought under the guidance of the Spirit Shri Mataji. Thank You for permitting us all to welcome You here in Delphi. Thank You Shri Mataji. 5:42 Pascal introduce the program: Benin starts. Ivory Cost. Greek collective. Video about Greece. Indian dance. A Qawali from Babamama. 1:46:45 Shri Mataji: After such Read More …

Evening Program at Navaratri Weekend Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

1999-10-15 Evening Program, Navaratri, Cabella It was really a very unique day and wonderful program [unclear]. Actually, I did not know what sort of program they were going to have. Because Dr David told me in a great hurry. This is what we are going to have and it will take 3 and half hours but it turns out to be such a unique experience that We have so many artists of very high calibre. And that they are to be realised properly. I don’t know what to say about our people from Ukraine. The first time I came to Ukraine, I remember they were all suffering from [unclear] problem. And they were all thinking that they are going to die or I don’t know what was the feeling they had But I don’t know-how by the grace of divine, Param Chaitanya, most of them got cured and they were all right but I could not understand that these people will one day become such great talented artist and to see them today, in this way, I am really amazed how they have developed themselves so well. The first troop, which here came also partly from Nagpur, was very surprised because they used all Indian talas and Indian music. And they were absolutely superlative you should say! Superlative! I can’t imagine that in such a short time have these people who are absolutely foreign to Indian Music, can pick up so well and so dedicatedly do all these things. Then also Read More …

Evening Program: Don’t criticise others, Eve of Shri Ganesha Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Evening program before Shri Ganesha Puja, first part, Cabella Ligure Italy, September, 24, 1999 [After performance, on video at 2:51:29] It was really very interesting to go through various programmes coming from different countries. I Myself was overwhelmed that Sahaja Yoga is spreading to all these countries where they have created such good artists and such good program. We didn’t even feel how the time passed. Lastly, the critic – of course I always say, “Don’t criticize others”. But specially the art, when people start criticizing, the art is dying out. [Cut in the video] … And is now only the critics are criticizing is a fact. If not, the art that will come up will be so hideous and heinous that we’d can never enjoy that art, because it will be only for money – cheap type, which can be sold in the market. And this kind of intellectual analysis of everything is responsible also to the decline of pure art. We are doing it all the time. We all think we are very intelligent and we can criticize, all the time correcting these artists – is a common thing. It’s not only artists, but in every field of life we have become very much arrogant, and we think we know everything and we can criticize others. By which we stop their progress completely. Not only that, but we also stop our progress, because whatever you do with your mind, is not in any way global, in any way spiritual. Read More …

Evening Program Guru Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Evening Program Guru Puja, Italy, Cabella, 30-07-1999 This was really a very memorable night for all of you. I don’t know what to say about Nishat Khan. I think he should be given now the title of Ustad, no doubt. The way he has played, I have never heard anybody playing so well, never before. And specially Tappa. Because it’s a very different, I have never heard anyone playing Tappa on sitar. Once only, Siddheswari Devi, as I told you. She sang before Me this Tappa Raag. She was quite an old lady at that time. But I was amazed, She sang it so well, absolutely the masterer. And I also called her ‘You are an Ustad’, I called her.  That’s what I feel now today the way you have really entertained all of them. Also, they appreciate and understand music, that’s the best part of it. See, all these people who are sitting here, I know them, if you would have played till five, six o’clock, they would have sat.  It’s a… it’s a present to them, for they are serving a great purpose. My father was a great connaisseur and supporter of musicians, and always used to say you must always respect artists, because they are specially chosen by God. If they don’t go to the wrong path, then they are to be very much respected and must do everything that is possible to express your respect. So, one day he told Me ‘My desire is that the whole Read More …

Music will bring glory to Sahaja Yoga, Evening Program before Sahasrara Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Music will bring glory to Sahaja Yoga, Eve of Sahasrara puja, 08/05/1999,Evening Program [Talk after the music program and of the Magic Flute] Sometimes, the words fail to express the feelings of great gratitude for all of you – for putting up this collective effort and such a beautiful concentrated work as a real piece of art.  I had seen “Magic Flute” long time back, when I was in Berlin, and that time – of course I didn’t understand German language, but I absolutely got lost by the rhythm, the music, the tuning and everything.  So, actually the way you have brought in that very, very beautiful piece of art to life – I feel so much grateful to you that you are all Sahaja Yogis, and to Sahaja Yogis to perform this kind of magnificent, tremendous art piece, I don’t know whom to thank, really.  Because now I can see our future, we’ll be going all over the world, taking this music. And may not be this one, may be another one, but you are all such a great group that you can really surpass everybody else who are having all these operas everywhere. Actually, I would say in London it’s very easy to get that hall which is mostly used for operas, the Royal Albert Hall.  So we can reserve for you that, and we’ll have the whole thing done. I mean, I could never imagine that you were such masters. I shouldn’t say professionals, but really masters. And Read More …

Talk and Evening Program before Sahasrara Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Evening Program and Talk, Cabella, Italy 07-05-1999 It was really a great, enjoyable night. We never felt any time passing. Your enthusiasm to celebrate Sahasrara Puja is very remarkable. I cannot imagine how joyous it is to be in collective like this, all of us, and enjoying the bliss of joy, peace and love. I was surprised at certain great talents that came up and who played so beautifully. Individually they were very, very good, something very surprising, and not only that, but it shows there is a divine effect on these artists, no doubt. I’ve been to Slovakia only once, once only I went there, and today to see so many Sahaja Yogis from Slovakia giving such a beautiful performance, of, from Valmiki up to this Kali Yuga and then to Satya Yuga is very remarkable. I don’t know who taught them all these things, at least I did not tell them all these things as far as I remember. But the way, you see, their heart is open now to Sahaja Yoga and to the divine blessings, all these ideas come, trickle down, I mean, unbelievable it is! If you show this to Indians they’ll be surprised how you could get to the roots of everything and how beautifully you have described it, in a very dramatic manner. I again feel this is [a] very divine ‘manufacturing’, or perhaps, ‘manifestation’ through you people. It’s impossible, you can’t imagine [that] you people didn’t know this language, you didn’t know Read More …

Evening Program, Eve of Shri Hanumana Puja Pune (India)

Evening Program, Eve of Shri Hanumana Puja – Pune (India), Tuesday March 30th 1999 [Talk before performance] This is a great desire of My father being fulfilled, that he wanted to start a music academy for all the foreigners especially. Because it seems that our knowledge of classical music is very deep and is of a global nature and so we got lots of students from all over the world who are studying music. Most surprising was the way they picked up our classical music.  For example, somebody starts singing Malkauns Raag within three months who doesn’t know even the Sa Re Ga Ma of Indian music… [Shri Mataji laughs]  It’s such a remarkable thing. Then there’s another one who plays sarod… I’m really surprised in three months how could they do so much and I have been trying to analyse what sort of personalities they have that they grow so fast – even in tabla, harmonium – in every way, how they have become so competent in such a short time. Is really remarkable. [sentence in Hindi] [0:1:15 – 1:09:23 Performance of several raags and bhajans by students of The Late PK Salve Academy of Fine Arts & Music, Nagpur] [1:09:24 – 1:16:17 Shri Mataji speaks in Hindi apart from one line in English to the students at 1:15:54: ‘I thank you all on their behalf.’] [Talk at end of Vocal Recital by Meena Patharpekar] I think you give her a standing ovation. Shivaratri Evening Program and Talk on NGO New Delhi (India)

Talk on NGO, Delhi (India), 13 February 1999. We have started one NGO for destitute women and children; plus, we’ll be having a hospital here. As you know, we have one in… good hospital in Belapur, near Vashi in New Bombay. And this hospital will be in Noida. [Applause] Today, you’ll be happy to know that we have now got the land in Noida and we are going to start our work there. You… whatever you want to contribute for NGO, you are allowed to contribute and we have a very good team of people who want to work it out. This is something… I thought that we must have, also, our attention for people who are in great trouble around us. So, this NGO will work for women who are left by their husbands, by their family – who has nobody to look after – and also their children. Still I have not made the whole plans. But before starting Sahaja Yoga, I used to do lots of things like that. So I have quite a lot of experience. Our attention should be, really, towards people who are in trouble. Now – as we are now enriched with divine power – we should look after those who really deserve our attention. You’ll be very happy to know about women who are destitutes recommended by Sahaja Yogis, will be a better idea. And, it can be worked out very well. So far, we haven’t got any application of women who Read More …

Evening Program, Eve of Christmas Puja Ganapatipule (India)

Evening Program, Eve of Christmas Puja. Ganapatipule (Maharashtra, India), 24 December 1998. It is very difficult to describe this inner joy. You can only enjoy it, you can only feel it. It’s something so innate to see that so many of you have learnt this difficult music and all of you have been enjoying it. I went to various places in the West and I felt that, “Why even small little children, boys and girls, take to something which is self-destructive? Why? Why do they take to drugs? Why do they take to all these things which are self-destructive.” I mean, you could blame the parents to some extent but on the whole, there was something within them which was troubling them, which was trying to say that, “That’s not true. That’s not the thing, that’s not the thing that you want.” And that’s what made them go into all kinds of various types of rebellion, I should say, against all the accepted truths or accepted goodness or value system. And I just thought that, of course, in India the parents are rather strict, I must say ‘right’, but there’s one more thing in India: there’s a big outlet for them and I found that outlet was the talent that they had. They had lots of talents, all of them, I felt when I talked to them and this and that. I felt that they have lots of talent but there is no way to express it. Certain people have Read More …

Play on Joan Of Arc and Talk, Eve of Diwali Puja Novi Ligure (Italy)

Evening Talk before Diwali. Nova Ligure (Italy), 24 October 1998 So I wish you all a very happy Diwali, and a very prosperous New Year. The whole evening was so full of joy, peace that I don’t know how to describe. The whole event was worked out so beautifully by the French. Especially people from South Africa, from Benin, from Ivory Coast, from Kenya, and also many others who have come from various countries, have shown their talent, their joy, their happiness. The best part of it is that I’ve found them to be very well equipped with the names of all the deities and how to praise them. Very surprising, in this short time, how Sahaja Yoga has spread to all these countries. Regarding the programme, that was presented by the French, it’s remarkable I must say. Last year they had one very good drama on Jnanadeva; and this year this other one was really very very remarkable. A long time back I told them that Joan of Arc was a special, blessed person by the divine; and she should be worshipped as a goddess or as a deity, which has looked after France and its independence. But then the people, every year I repeated, but they didn’t make anything on her. So I was very happy to see Joan of Arc represented here. Actually in my own life, I have seen, at a very young age of fourteen years and eighteen years, I was fighting for the independence Read More …

Evening Program, Eve of Easter Puja Istanbul (Turkey)

Evening Program At Easter Puja, Istanbul, Turkey, 1998-04-18 (From 2:07:52 speech starts) I never expected such a beautiful pandal you have raised and the way you have organized the stage as if you are all experts on stage arrangements. I can’t understand how beautiful it was all done. Now I don’t know what to say about all the programs that you have arranged. One better than the other and it shows such a capacity you have or you have developed to organize such beautiful entertaining, continuous programs. I used to do the same when I was young. I used to arrange many programs and I know the difficulties and hurdles we had. Because the people who did that were not Sahaja Yogis. You are all Sahaja Yogis so you are also combining and you are helping each other, so beautifully. There is so much of harmony, no problem of any kind. This is something to be seen and to be felt the way it has been done. I was really surprised the way, they had the Turkish dance also. These people are beautiful dancers and they can be paid very heavily. If somehow I could introduce them to some Serena people from India. They used this kind of dance very much and but it is very difficult. I don’t know if you understand there is a myth patterns of those people who danced here and who are so fast. My husband used to always tell me that Turkish people are Read More …

Evening Program and Talk on Christmas eve Ganapatipule (India)

Ganapatipule (India), December 24th, 1997 (Music played on tape; then Shri Mataji says the following … ) I wish you all very Happy Christmas and very, very, very prosperous New Year. I am Myself amazed at these people who have come to the Academy and have picked up this difficult Indian music so easily. Some of them have been only for two months. Imagine, people spend all their lives learning classical music and how these people have picked it up so fast. I mean, they say it is due to Sahaja Yoga but that is really a miracle, really a miracle. Even the Indian music sung by Indian musician here today amazed Me the way they have been singing like great Ustads and I just don’t know how they have done this, and how they have achieved this, because I know in My family there was too much of music and those who were interested used to get up in the morning and practice every day for three hours in the morning, and three hours in the evening; while I find here the people coming from countries where they don’t know a word about Indian music, picking it up so fast. Maybe – I just can’t explain – maybe their previous lives they might have been in India or maybe…. that they are so talented. I can’t explain, because this is really, if it is due to Sahaja Yoga, I must say, Sahaja Yoga is something that creates miracles within Read More …

Evening Program, Eve of Diwali Puja Lisbon (Portugal)

Talk before Diwali Puja, Sintra, Lisbon (Portugal), 1 November 1997 [After the play by Sahaja yogis] (02:02:38) Shri Mataji: Actually Gyaneshwara always brings tears to my eyes, because he suffered so much. And he has talked about Sahaja Yoga. His dream (2.02.52) was nothing but Sahaja Yoga and it’s better to understand what it means, because it was in Marathi, so I would like to translate. [Shri Mataji translates from Marathi the Pasaydan, the epilogue to the Gyaneshwari by Saint Gyaneshwara:]He says: “O, the Spirit of the whole universe, for you I have composed this dream of mine. After hearing this, I hope you feel satisfied. It’s more than satisfaction. And then you give me a blessing of vibrations. ‘Pasaydan’ is vibrations. Now he describes that, “All the cruel people should give up their cruelty and there should be love between each other.” See how he is describing Sahaja Yoga!He says that, “Those who are away from Truth, removed from Truth, their darkness should go.” That’s what he is demanding. “And the whole world should see the sun of Self-realisation.” Can you imagine? “And whatever then one wants, he’ll get it.”He says, “Everywhere is the flow of auspiciousness and great saints will be there.” That is you all, you see, he is describing. And: “Such people will be very much in number and they will be respected. And it will become impossible to control themselves when you meet all the people whom you have created.” You see, all Sahaja Yoga, he’s Read More …

Talk and Evening Program, Eve of Shri Ganesha Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Evening before Ganesha Puja, Cabella (Italy), 6 September 1997 I must thank Australian collectivity and all the other countries which are here. How beautifully they have organized the whole thing. They didn’t waste any time with all these programs, you see. They…. You don’t know what I must be feeling when I see all these countries which I have visited before, and I know most of you very well. The way the whole joy and happiness that you have received through your spiritual awakening, in the light of your spirit, it’s very evident and very beautifully ringing like waves, and waves. It is Sahaja Yoga’s dreams which I had, it’s more than fulfilled, I can tell you. I couldn’t understand that how – right from Australia, then Japan, then Taiwan and Vietnam, all these countries plus the greatest of all is, I would say, people from Malaysia – that we have been able to organize this spontaneously so beautifully. Somehow or other it has worked out, that’s all I can say. China – I never expected Chinese to come and sing these songs; it’s very surprising. They sang so well. I have been to China, I have never heard such nice songs there; I mean, they were very rudimentary in the beginning I’ve felt, but this time you find them really understanding what is being sung. So we have people from all over the Eastern side, and also others have joined you. Now this qawwali has completely, you see, made Read More …

Evening Program and Weddings Announcements, Eve of Shri Krishna Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Evening Program Talk 1997-08-22 Evening Program At Krishna Puja, Cabella, Italy, You can see, I have become black today because of Shri Krishna. It’s very interesting how everything in this world moves according to the desire of the param Chaitanya …It’s very surprising. I wanted them to make a film about fundamentalism. It’s done very well ..We might be able to show it in India, maybe because they have already asked me to make some episodes of my life…It’s they would like to show one after the another …Somehow in India in the Television, We have many Sahaja yogis I didn’t know Even the Director, Deputy Director…They were all Sahaja Yogis,& once they came to see me in Delhi in our Ashram & said to me -(Somebody said ) Mother, You don’t like media but what about Television? Evening Program, Eve of Shri Krishna Puja New York City (United States)

Day before Shri Krishna Puja, New Jersey (USA), 7 June 1997. Tomorrow I’m going to tell you about it, but today, I would say, music, dancing, art – every kind of creativity will definitely bring forth the spiritual aspect of American’s life. They have to come to this. Otherwise it’s not going to be appreciated, it won’t be an appeal, people won’t like such music. They’ll try some tricks otherwise – you know that in this country we have all kinds of people, all kinds of music, and sometimes extremely stupid. But, somehow they are gaining the idea that popularity now doesn’t remain with all kind of strand and stupid things. They have taken, I’m sure, by their own urge to search the reality a new type of a style, new type of a singing, in which there is a different tune, I feel, is coming up, suggesting that there’s something higher that we have to enjoy. The idea of enjoyment is change. Sometimes people feel that this country is not so ancient, it has no traditions, also people are from different cultures and so they are all mixed up, confused. But in that confusion only you are going to find the truth. And that’s why everywhere in America you go you find that there are people who are working some out sort of a search of their own. Maybe it’s not correct – it’s not all right. Like the music now, you see, you had such serene, deep music, Read More …

Talk: Sahaja Yoga is now on your shoulders & Evening Program Adi Shakti Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Talk before Adi Shakti Puja (at the End of the Evening Program), Cabella Ligure, May 24th, 1997 It has been a very, very joyful evening for all of us. And we thank all the people who have brought all kinds of entertainment for all of us. I’m really amazed because last time I couldn’t go to Spain despite they had invited Me, but I think somehow it has taken roots there, there are so many people who are now involved in Sahaja Yoga. It’s very important that places like Spain should have many more sahaja yogis I think, I always thought, because it’s a country visited by so many people, so cosmopolitan, and there are quite a lot of Turkish influence also. Despite that we found it was not so much encouraging (Shri Mataji laughs), and Jose was extremely upset with the whole thing. And he said: “Mother, what has happened to these people here?”. It’s alright now, as you see, it’s very encouraging, we have so many beautiful singers, musicians from Spain, and there are so many people here who have come to entertain you with their beautiful, melodious music – specially their rhythm is something really extraordinary. Indian music has a rhythm of its own, but it’s very bound by its systems, while I find here is absolutely a freedom to play whichever way you like, your tabla whichever way you like, your rhythmic patterns, which is a very great thing to achieve also that freedom despite the Read More …

Evening Program, Eve of Sahasrara Puja Campus, Cabella Ligure (Italy)

Talk at the end of Evening program, eve of Sahasrara Puja, Cabella Ligure, May 3rd 1997 Today’s program was really very, very joyful, very masterly. I must say credit goes to Germans as well as to the Austrians for doing everything so perfect. The first half we were amazed how people from the west can play so well on Indian instruments with Indian ragas. It’s an impossible task. I mean, in India, they spend at least ten to twelve years to reach that stage and in three months’ time they all have achieved so much. And Babamama was saying that it is due to their realisation perhaps, that they pick up all these things in three months’ time. I was surprised Myself in three months’ time how he could play so well. Then other programs also were very interesting, for example the way they showed about this music being conducted so well. I mean, you have to pay $50 to see this program! And has to be pin-drop silence, and must sit in your place sort of fixed, permanently as if… And this was so remarkable and so professional, so, so beautifully done, without one mistake anywhere, in such unison – also is that the blessing of Sahaja Yoga, I don’t know. No conflict, nothing; but sometimes you find, say you go to some big orchestra program or some sort of what they call it, where you find people are jealous, they are feeling angry, we can see from their Read More …

1997-03-30 Evening Program, Easter Puja, Sahaj Temple, Delhi, India, talk starts at 02:09:09 After the performance of Artists : Shri Mataji: You can see the creativity of this young gentleman. He is a born realized I could see…The way he was singing was so creative, so creative, so beautifully made. His father is a very well known musician I have heard him, on the …I think… twice I heard him from Delhi and once I think from Bombay television maybe and he is a long time back & his brother also …And their style was very unique no doubt. And in that style, I feel that there is a combination of every sort of permutations and combinations we use in music …Well, I don’t want to discuss them …that part of the music…But it’s very elevating…Elevating and for you people who are all Sahaja Yogis now, you should know that we have some more here sitting …Today is the great day of resurrection of Christ and resurrection of many if you take place now And I am surprised that even so many Muslims are now getting their realization, so easily. Muslims are the best, I think for realization because perhaps they follow the ‘Nirakara’, the formless. Also, Sikhs are very good …but `compared to Sikhs we have more Muslims because they have found out that with all these they have been doing They have to go beyond. They already described in the ‘Koran’ that you have to receive your resurrection. So there are Read More …
