The brain misguided so much that we started justifying all our deeds. Man moved away from the path of truth. We started running after the material gains. Human connections with truth was severed and human beings fell into the unknown abyss. Now people are surprised as to how it happened? Why such a situation arose? Why did man shift from wisdom to (un-wise) wickedness? Wickedness took the place of wisdom. This wickedness benefited neither the individual nor anyone else. They sacrificed everything for the country, and I also was always condemned by everyone as being a very patriotic person. [Applause] We must love the country in which we are born. There is some connection, very great connection, between yourself and your country. And I have seen that after Sahaja Yoga, all those who have been transformed into new visions and new ideas always know what’s wrong in their own country, and so conscious of it. Because there is so much – if you read any newspaper in the morning, such horrible news is there about the people who are trying to create all kinds of violence, corruption and immoral behaviour. Diwali puja. Delphi (Greece), 7 November 1999. It is very, very fortunate and auspicious that we are celebrating the Diwali in Greece, specially in Delphi. It has a very ancient history, and as you know Athena resided here. She was the Primordial Mother. “Atha” in Sanskrit means “primordial.” So this place has been described, has been described even in the Puranas as “Manipur [navel] dvipa [island].” Manipur is the Nabhi. Also in Sanskrit Manipur means the Nabhi Chakra. So it’s described as the Manipur dvipa, is written “Manipur e dvipa.” Just imagine these Puranas, these ancient-time books – God knows how old they are, must be at least eight thousand or maybe more – and they have described Greece as the Manipur dvipa [the island of the navel], is the place of Nabhi and where resides the Adi Shakti, that’s the Athena. So I mean, how it was known to them – maybe through torsion area, I would say; but it is written very clearly, and same we find here is the place of Athena which is in the Nabhi. So many types of forms She has taken, to kill the negative forces that are trying to trouble or to obstruct, or even to grow the people who were gentle and good. Her forms are of different types – that we know about, that She destroyed so many rakshasas, She destroyed so many evildoers. Also we do not know that, in the World Wars that we had, She was there to protect the right type of people. And that’s how they all survived the ill-blood plan, ill-gotten plan of very cruel and evil people. The evil people have a capacity to hate and to express their hate in every way that is possible. These days people have become extremely cunning and they don’t mind any amount of cunning. They play all kinds of cunning games on others who are innocent and simple. I Myself was overwhelmed that Sahaja Yoga is spreading to all these countries where they have created such good artists and such good program. We didn’t even feel how the time passed. Lastly, the critic – of course I always say, “Don’t criticize others”. But specially the art, when people start criticizing, the art is dying out. [Cut in the video] … And is now only the critics are criticizing is a fact. If not, the art that will come up will be so hideous and heinous that we’d can never enjoy that art, because it will be only for money – cheap type, which can be sold in the market. Sahasrar, the word ‘sahastr’, in Sanskrit language, means ‘one thousand’. And there are one thousand petals in our brain which get enlightened. Of course, the doctors are quarrelling on that point but forget about them. Now these petals are kept ready for our enlightenment, and these are really the nerves, one thousand nerves, which are there for the enlightenment of the brain. So, when the Kundalini rises, she enlightens those one thousand nerves which become like — as you see here, the shape of these flames — like a petal. And that’s why it is called as ‘Sahasrara’ — is the centre of Sahasrara. In the human beings it is a very important centre, because this is the only centre by which we think and we try to stop whatever we don’t like. This is the centre which reacts, reacts in such a manner that, without any discretion we start saying, ‘no’ to this, and, ‘no’ to that, on small things also. I cannot imagine how joyous it is to be in collective like this, all of us, and enjoying the bliss of joy, peace and love. I was surprised at certain great talents that came up and who played so beautifully. Individually they were very, very good, something very surprising, and not only that, but it shows there is a divine effect on these artists, no doubt. I’ve been to Slovakia only once, once only I went there, and today to see so many Sahaja Yogis from Slovakia giving such a beautiful performance, of, from Valmiki up to this Kali Yuga and then to Satya Yuga is very remarkable. At this time there is so much of turmoils, so much of problems, so many wars, all kinds of interrogation has taken place in our value system. And we are quite shocked about that, very much shocked. Today, we are all here assembled in Turkey, in Istanbul, to celebrate the resurrection of Christ and, with that also, your celebration of your resurrection.Christ’s resurrection was a great message for us. He won over the death and came out of that dead body with another body which was living body. The body was the same, but one was a dead body and another one was a body which was living. It’s not only symbolic, it actually happened within. After all, He was a divine child, He was a divine person. Actually it has happened within. It’s not just a symbolic thing that He died and He was resurrected into another person or, you can say, into a living person. For Him, what is the death? For eternal beings, there are no deaths. There’s no death for a person who’s eternal. He may, for the time being, look as if He is dead, but He can never die. Because it seems that our knowledge of classical music is very deep and is of a global nature and so we got lots of students from all over the world who are studying music. Most surprising was the way they picked up our classical music.  For example, somebody starts singing Malkauns Raag within three months who doesn’t know even the Sa Re Ga Ma of Indian music… [Shri Mataji laughs]  It’s such a remarkable thing. Then there’s another one who plays sarod… I’m really surprised in three months how could they do so much and I have been trying to analyse what sort of personalities they have that they grow so fast – even in tabla, harmonium – in every way, how they have become so competent in such a short time. Hindi Part (for subtitles) (Translation from Hindi) After seeing this love, my heart is filled.  And I am thinking that love is such a big power by which so many people are attracted and become happy.  This is such a surprising thing. In this Kali Yuga, no one would have seen this greatness of love.  I think that after seeing this, all of you should learn to increase your love.  And this thing is very easy.  And you can do it in this way – by meditating morning and evening, then the bad thoughts in your mind which cause jealousy and anger and you get hurt by small things, all such thoughts will end.  And after that what’s left, it’s Nirmal prem.  With this love you can give the whole world a new life.
