Christmas Puja Ganapatipule (India)

Christmas Puja, Ganapatipule (India), 25 December 2003. English Transcript Today is a great day because we are celebrating the birth of Jesus Christ. He was such a great spiritual personality, who had to suffer on the cross. This is what many people don’t understand, that why a man of his calibre, of his standing, of his spirituality, should have to go through so many ordeals in life. It is very easy to understand that he was born in a circumstances which was against him, which were against divine force. So to overcome that people tried to destroy Jesus Christ. And he did not feel the pain, he didn’t feel the absurdity of those people. On the contrary he went through all that ordeal with such courage and such dignity. So for us, what is there to see is that if you are divine and if you have powers of divinity, then you should have courage, and with that courage you can face all kinds of ordeals. On the whole, whenever you are on this earth there are problems of different types. You may belong to royal families, or maybe a poor person, there are always problems facing you. But Christ has shown by his life that, though he had to suffer so much, he was so patient and courageous. His life has given us an example, what we should be, how we should behave when we are facing problems because of ignorance of people. But today is a happy day Read More …

Shri Krishna Puja: Look Inside Pune (India)

Shri Krishna Puja (Hindi). Pune (India), 9 August 2003. [Translation from Hindi to English] Now we have to realize that Sahaja Yoga has spread a lot and in all corners of the world people respect Sahaja Yoga, but until and unless Sahaja Yoga is completely manifested within us, the people who respect Sahaja Yoga will not continue to do so. That is why it is essential that we look inside of us. The nature of Shri Krishna is that we look inside of us and see what are the things that put us in trouble. We should find that out. We should look towards ourselves, within ourselves and that is not such a difficult thing. When we want to see our face, we look in the mirror. Similarly, when we need to see our spirit, we should find out how to see it within us. Many Sahaja Yogis have asked Me, “Mother, how do we see what is within us and how we are doing?.” For that it is necessary that we ourselves should become very humble. If we lack humility, we will be clouded by our own thoughts. So in the life of Shri Krishna, first it was shown that he was just like a small child. Absolutely like an infant. Not knowing anything. He did not think anything of himself. He had his mother and he wanted to grow with the support of his mother. We should also look inside of ourselves and realize that we are like a Read More …

New Year’s Eve Puja P K Salve Kala Pratishthan - Vaitarna Music Academy, Tembha (India)

New Year’s Eve Puja. Music Academy of Vaitarna, Bombay (India), 31 December 2002. I am very, very happy to see so many of you coming down here for the program. Actually I bought this land at least at least twenty-five years back and couldn’t do any thing about it, as they had lots of objections this and that. But then somehow I planned the whole thing & it all worked out. Happy to see you all here that with all those difficulties, ultimately now you find so many Sahaja Yogis attending this program of My Puja. I must remember My brother Baba who has worked very hard for the propagation of Indian music, classical music, all types of art, whatever he could do. It is a very sad thing that today he is not here to see you all. He has done so much work relentlessly without expecting any reward whatsoever. And I wish you could have him as your ideal and that’ll work it out everything, in that way. There is one thing about him I know – he never tried to show off anything. Very intelligent, educated man but he caught hold of all the people of ordinary living and he looked after them & he promoted their skill of music and art. With the same idea, I decided to have this place dedicated to his idea of propagating music & art. And I am happy to see, that, that idea has materialized. But I wish My brother Read More …

Makar Sankranti Puja Pune (India)

Makar Sankranti Puja Talk (translated from Marathi). Pratishthan, Pune (India), 14 January 2002. The meaning of Makar Sankranti is “Sankram” [“transition” in Sankrit], i.e. the day that brings about some change. On this day the sun starts its movement towards the northern hemisphere. In India all the festivals are according to the position of the moon. That’s why their dates are different in different years. Makar Sankranti is based on the position of the sun and that is the reason this festival is celebrated every year on 14th January. Makar Sankranti indicates the day when the Sun becomes warmer. The heat of the sun is benevolent for the human race. It is because of this heat (of the sun) that we can walk, we can talk. The heat of the sun makes a human being angry. This is the reason why we take jaggery on this day so that we talk sweetly. The heat of the sun is responsible for all the vegetation and wealth of the earth. On this day we offer fruits and vegetables to the Devi and receive her blessings. With the blessings of Adishakti the earth element cools down and the human race progresses. The festival of Sankranti has a cultural significance. People all over India celebrate this festival very enthusiastically. In other countries also it is celebrated. But in India it is given special importance. In India we do not have extremes of temperatures, the climatic conditions are quite balanced. India is blessed by the Adishakti. Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Pune (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Pune, India, 5 March 2000. First, I’ll speak in English language, because we have so many people from foreign countries, and especially from Madras (Chennai) and also from Kerala, Hyderabad and Bangalore. All these people have come here, and I don’t know what other people are here, who have come from South and who do not yet understand Hindi language. This Shivaratri has a special meaning, I think. Because there is so much – if you read any newspaper in the morning, such horrible news is there about the people who are trying to create all kinds of violence, corruption and immoral behaviour. You are surprised how, these days, it is so full of all these criminalities going round us. This is the time, as if come, for the “Taandav nrutya” [ताण्डव नृत्य, cosmic dance] of Shri Shiva. Otherwise, one feels things cannot improve. It is His anger, if it starts, throwing wrath on people of this character and this type. I don’t know how anyone can save from His wrath. He’s a God who is full of love, full of tremendous compassion, but also the another extreme of very destroying character. He can destroy the whole world. He can finish all the creatures that have been created if He gets into a temper. You all must be knowing the story, how He went into ecstasy. There was a devil who had taken a form of a child. And a Mother cannot kill the child, She cannot. And Read More …

Awakening Of Kundalini Is Not A Ritual Shivaji Park, Mumbai (India)

1999-02-20 Public Program in Shivaji Park, Mumbai [translation from Hindi, Marathi] My Greetings to seekers of Truth. We don’t give any importance or attention to truth, what is the reason for that? Why we don’t like Truth and implement it. It’s not that only this, this World has become like that one eye is on wrong or false things. For that, I can say that this is the time of severe (grievous) Kaliyuga. Very bad Kaliyuga, I have seen unique people in my time, but today I see very Vikskipt (Assimilated) people, very spoiled people. Happily, they are spoiled one, no Body has forced them. Today the condition of the Country is because the human being is falling in their morality. For that Sadhu and Saints have done so much hard work in our Country, said so much and explained. Especially Indians are specialized in whatever Sadhu and Saints said they believe in it. They don’t ask any questions, in foreign it’s not like that, they start to use logic (Argument) and ask them. Indians have the specialty that whatever Sadhu and saints have said they would accept it without any dispute and follow it from small talk to big talk they will listen and accept it Because of this specialty today we have walked on the right path. But now what happened in this Bad Kaliyuga that human thinks that there is nothing like the truth. False is only everything. A Peron who is following false only grows higher, Read More …

New Year’s eve Puja: Indian Culture Kalwa (India)

New Year’s eve Puja (English part). Kalwa (India), 31 December 1998. Firstly I will speak in English language as we have many Sahaja Yogis from abroad. They have asked me to talk about Indian culture today because Bombay is the place where Indian culture is disappearing, that’s what they say. But I don’t think so, because the roots are so deep that we cannot give up that culture so fast. Now as it is for the people who are coming from other countries, they have to realize that this country had no religion as such, because there was not one book, they didn’t follow one person, they didn’t have any organizations as we have for other religions, we never had a higher priesthood or all those appointed people, it was all done very spontaneously. The whole thing worked out very spontaneously. But behind all that was, as I told you before, the attitude of Indians or our style was, not to challenge or to question what these great saints have given us. Because we accepted their status as saints, as higher personalities in a way – in a sense they were higher than us. So we didn’t want to challenge them, and whatever they said we accepted. As a result that became sort of, you can call it, a way of conduct or way of life. But as a religion we had nothing, except that later on the caste system developed. Before that there was no caste system because non-Brahmins Read More …

Adi Shakti Puja: Respect Your Wife Kalwa (India)

Shakti Puja. Kalwa (India), 31 December 1997. [Translation from Hindi to English] Today we have gathered to do Puja of the Shakti. Shakti means all the Shaktis and not any one special Shakti. All these Shaktis are situated on all our chakras and without these Shaktis no work of the Devtas can be carried out. Like you know that the Shakti of Krishna is Radha and Ram’s Shakti is Sita, Vishnu’s is Laxmi. So in the same way the abode of the Shaktis is with the devtas. The Devtas cannot do anything without the shakti. That sole shakti is situated in the center heart as Jagdamba. This Jagdamba shakti is very powerful. You know that She lives as a mother or a wife with the Devtas. Worship of the Shakti means that there will be a Puja of all the Shaktis of the Devtas. By these shaktis being spoiled our chakras get damaged and because of that all our physical, mental and emotional problems come about. That is why it is important to always keep these shaktis pleased. It is said that the Devi should be pleased. By the awakening of the Kundalini this shakti got another Shakti. There is a speciality in these shaktis, that they become one with that Omnipresent Shakti which is the Param Chaitanya,  the shakti of the Adi Shakti. Because of that oneness the shakti comes within.  All these little shaktis get integrated with the Shakti. For example if your heart shakti is weak, and when Read More …

Shri Kartikeya Puja: The spirit of Kartikeya Vashi Health Centre, Mumbai (India)

Shri Kartikeya Puja, (Marathi and English talk), Mumbai (India), 21 December 1996. [Marathi to English Translation] Today you all have expressed the desire to do a puja to Shri Mahalakshmi, but here in Maharashtra, Shri Mahalakshmi is worshipped regularly and she has appeared here in Maharashtra but I had an immense desire to tell you all about Shri Kartikeya because he took birth in this Maharashtra, he was Shri Gyaneshwara himself, I have not said anything about this until now because Maharashtrians find it difficult to understand it. Shri Kartikeya himself took birth in this Maharashtra and he wrote such great and deep scriptures like Gyaneshwari and Amrutanubhava. You can ask a question by putting your attention to see if Shri Gyaneshwara was an incarnation of Shri Kartikeya and you will find yourself in an ocean of beautiful, joyful cool breeze. I never told such a big thing like this in Maharashtra, because of the change in nature of Maharashtrian people now. Maybe because of all the horrible politicians we had here, and it might have influenced the Maharashtrians, (and Shri Kartikeya means, being in here, quite simple Maharashtrian……… a bit unclear.) We are someone great, it was very true what these people were telling me just now, that there were 40 IAS officers had come and there were three policemen on horseback, from where I came, so I asked who had come, they told me that the chief secretary himself had come. The Governor himself of that place said Read More …

Makar Sankranti Puja Pune (India)

Makar Sankranti Puja 14 Jan 1996, Pune, India (Hindi/English/Marathi) Translation from Hindi: Today, we have assembled here to perform the puja of the Sun God on the day of Sankranti. In our country, a lot of importance has been given to the puja of the Sun God and there is a custom to offer Arghya (water offering) to the Sun God and even in the foreign countries, Sun has been given a lot of importance. Their astrology and other scriptures is dependent on the Sun. During Sankranti, on 14 day of January, the Sun shifts from his existing position and comes to North, and that is the reason why we celebrate Sankranti with a lot of belief. But, before this earth motion, from 22 December to 14 January, the weather is severely cold. Many people suffer during this cold weather. They catch cold and face other such health problems. Then this is called the period of infection (‘sankraman’). It will become very cold, more than required. On account of this cold weather, number of problems arises. But, there is also benefit on account of this cold. That is, whatever worms and such similar things which move about and give problems in this season in this county, they recede to their resting place; most of them are destroyed also. Many people die on account of cold. Meaning, that in India cold is such that whatever parasites exist, they all get killed. It is also important that in India, cold should be Read More …

Evening Program, eve of Diwali and Talk Nargol (India)

After Concert Talk Nargol 10-28-1995 Shri Mataji (in Marathi): Today, all things have been delayed and we all know the reason why. However, in Sahaja Yoga, we do not look at the clock. And we also do not keep thinking whether some things are happening as per the planned time or not. Whatever happens “Sahaja” (with ease/without effort), only that gives true joy. Now these songs that were conducted earlier, they were in English, or I would say, in the Western style and you all like it. I found great satisfaction in that. Otherwise, there are a lot of music experts sitting here. And they will say, “Mataji, what is this that you have started here?”. However, we should listen to all forms of music. Obviously, I am not referring to just any kind of music, that is coming out these days. But all forms of music. I am very fond of Western classical music. I am also very fond of South Indian music. And of course, ours. We have to have an extensive vision. And I was very happy to see that you appreciated what the French people (Sahaja Yogis), presented to you, the songs. The lead singer among them, from Zaire, in Africa, he is a very famous singer. A very famous singer in France. And now he is in Sahaja Yoga. He teaches small children also and says all our mantras. So there is a very big revolution in the world. They worship Shri Ganesha and sing Read More …

Shri Ganesha Puja: Spiritual Dimension Kalwa (India)

1994-12-31 Shri Ganesha Puja Kalwa Translation of the Talk in Hindi Today we are going to perform Shri Ganesha Pooja. Shri Ganesha Pooja is most essential. Because of Shri Ganesha only there is holiness spread in the whole world. Today, whatever problems we are seeing is because you have not yet recognised our greatness. And we do not know why we have not recognised its importance. And we do not know as to why we have come in this world and what work we are doing, and what we have to do? In order to understand this, today, Sahaja Yoga has come to this world. Whatever terrible condition of the world is due to the Kali yuga, you know about it. I do not have to tell you about this. But, we should know that the human being has been separated from righteousness (“dharma”). Like the faith humans had, has now become superficial. There is no interiority (“aantarikta”). People are not able to understand how to recognise Shri Ganesha. What should be there in their life? But this is very difficult. However, much you explain, whatever you say, humans do not understand how they can accept Shri Ganesha. If on one side they are blessed by Shri Ganesha and are nourished, then they are very pure. They reflect. That is not the point. if you are a very honest person it is alright. But if you fall short in honesty (“naitikta”), then it is wrong. If you are not able Read More …

Shri Mahalakshmi Puja: The Universal Love or 31st Kalwa (India)

Shri Mahalakshmi Puja. Kalwa (India), 30 December 1992. Transcript of English Talk: I would say those who have been worrying and all that should go into great meditation and understand that you are insulting yourself. You are saints. Why should you worry about what plane you are going to get, what you are not going to get? Shows that your level is very low, definitely. All those who have worried you have come here under My protection and you will go back under My protection! I got so sick this morning that I was thinking we’ll not have any pujas. You must know that you are all part and parcel of My being, I have put you into My body and you have to behave yourself. On such an auspicious day, when we have all come here, to do this special puja. I would say this should be called as a Mahalakshmi Puja, because it’s something to do with the industry of this country and of the whole world. Unless and until all the human ventures are connected with God, they cannot get their perfect stage and their status. That’s why we have problems now in the West. Supposed to be very clever people, very smart, very well equipped, well educated, we are having recessions and things, because they have no balance! They don’t know that there is God’s power which works everything. And when we neglect that, this is what’s happen to you. Now, for any venture that we Read More …

Shri Lakshmi Puja: Sea is your grandfather Chalmala, Alibag (India)

Shri Lakshmi Puja. Alibag (India), 29 December 1991. Translation from Marathi To this Chalmaal village we have come many times, Mumbaikar also came many times, and many people from all over the world have come here many times. I’m glad to hear that the people stopped drinking alcohol. This is a big thing. There are two troubles in Konkan. One is that black magic is very common, as it is like an industry there, and it is now reduced. This is the blessing of Sahaja Yoga that black magic was stopped that time, and we should educate people about that. The second thing is drinking alcohol. This kind of thing was very common, because people don’t understand what to do in their free time. So they drink alcohol. They don’t understand how much damage is being done, how much money they are wasting due to their drinking habits. Mumbai people should put in an effort to spread Sahaja Yoga to different villages nearby. People are suffering very much due to these bad habits. If such people get Self-realization then they will give up their bad habits. Due to this black magic, Lakshmi and Lakshmi’s principles cannot be established. That’s why everyone has trouble with money. Nevertheless, nowadays I have heard that the situation is better, and people also are behaving well. This is the benefit of practicing Sahaja Yoga, and you should spread this everywhere. That helps to grow people in every aspect. Here the people are religious, they have Read More …

Shri Mahalakshmi Puja: When you are in the center you don’t think, you are in meditation Kolhapur (India)

Shri Mahalakshmi Puja. Kolhapur (Maharashtra-India), Hindi Talk, 21 December 1990. This way the three and a half shakthi (Kundalini) is residing in Maharashtra, and also the Shri Chakra is residing here. All of you know that in the central path resides Mahalakshmi and also the Kundalini is awakened in the central path. For thousands of years in this Mahalakshmi temple it is recited (chanted) UDO UDO AMBE to awaken the Amba Kundalini and the kundalini shakthi in Mahalakshmi gets awakened. For this the Amba who resides in this Mahalakshmi temple arises.Kolasur was killed here and that’s why the name Kolapur. There was a rakshasa named Kolasur and he was killed here and from thename Kolasur it is named Kolapur.Wherever you go to the temples where the prithvi tattwa (Mother Earth) has created the swayambhu statues, there, completely people started making money out of it, because of this there will be less of Chaitanya (vibrations). Now you have come (sahajayogis) and it is possible again the Mahalakshmi (vibrations) get purified. Sushmna nadi is made in the way as the three nadis and behind there is a very subtle nadi and it is called Brahma nadi. The Kundalini gets first awakened in this nadi. From this subtle Brahma nadi it passes and awakens (opens) the Brahmarandra. By awakening the Brahmarandra the self realisation starts, so in this special way Kundalini’s central path is made.Whatever is the obstacle (badhas) slowly, slowly the Kundalini awakening steadies itself through meditation. In Sahaja Yoga first we reach the peak (top) after we settle down. First we go to the top… [After this one phrase, the words are not audible and Mother tells the Maharashtrians in marathi how everybody Read More …

Hans Upadesh Now Yoga Chuda Mani, written by Adi Shankaracharya, What he wrote in that book Yoga Chuda Mani, in which he has given Tatwik (Real and truth) and ideological discussion, there was a Dharmamartand named Sharma., he gave him hard time, then he let off that and wrote a booked named Saundarya Lahari, then Trishik Brahmani(not clear the word), Dhyan Bindu, then Yog Kundalini Upadesh, means Kundalini, Many Upanishads, Devi Bhagwat, Ling Purana, Agni Purana, then Shankaracharya’s Saundrya Lahari Apart from him Markandeya from Maharashtra, Markandeya where he was from .now we don’t know. Devi Puja: You should have no fear at all Shrirampur (India)

India Tour Puja. Shrirampur (India), 12 December 1990. First I will speak in English and then in Marathi. [Shri Mataji speaks in English] We have come to this place with the idea that we’ll be comfortable in the other place as we were before, but you must have known that there’s a man who is quite devilish, and he has tried to make this funny arrangement just to extract some money from us for doing nothing. What I have to tell you, that we should remember that when we are doing right in this Kruta Yuga, this is the time when the Paramachaitanya has become active. That’s why it is called as Kruta Yuga. At this time this Power is extremely active. They used to torture the saints in this country and every country who were real people, and they used to also make their lives impossible, because they were lonely people: one saint here, one saint there. But in these modern times we are so many, we have so many Sahaja Yogis all over the world. So first of all we are collectively very strong, and secondly the Brahmachaitanya itself has become active. It’s a very great thing, we must realize it within ourselves, that no amount of cruelty, planning against us, any kind of violence of other people cannot harm us. If they ever try to harm us, they’ll be harmed themselves; apart from that, all our work will go all smoothly. But we should not lose even Read More …

Devi Puja: In 10 years we can change the whole world & Weddings Announcements Brahmapuri (India)

Brahmapuri Puja. Brahmapuri (India), 30 December 1989. [English Transcript] I’m sorry what has happened yesterday, but I think the war has begun between the evil and good, and after all the good prevails. In these modern times, evil used to prevail on good but now, in this Krita Yuga, the evil will be completely conquered by good, and not only that, but good will spread all over. The evil has the capacity to go to extremes and then to fall out of the evolutionary process completely. Because they are blind they cannot see the good that’s why they are evil. If they could see the good they would give up their evil. In our country which is a country of yoga, especially Maharastra which is the country of the saints, I was amazed to hear what people are up to. One of the real source of this nonsense seems to be Rajneesh, the horrible fellow, because he has made an exhibition here absolutely denouncing all the deities and saying all kinds of dirty things, and I think the chief minister of this place is also hand in glove with him and they are all trying to prove that there is no God, there is no spirituality. They want to establish that science is everything. We have no heritage of science in India, we have the heritage of spirituality. I mean nobody is known as such a great scientist in this country. Nobody has made any special inventions and the way Read More …

Importance of True Love, Shri Mataji’s Updesh Nagpur (India)

Advice to Sahaja Yogis Nagpur, 5th March 1989 It is a special place when it is a village of our own Mother, old memories start to float just in front of my eyes. I always used to feel that Sahaja Yoga should spread in Nagpur city but people in their own homes stay away from mother, they do not see what is around them. The attention of human beings is easily drawn towards something which is far but they ignore what is near them and that is why the work of Sahaja Yoga began quite late in Nagpur. This land was already filled with vibrations because I stayed here in my childhood and quite a lot had already happened in subtle way. I knew that one day it will grow. My father used to go to various places for freedom struggle and used to meet many people. I met many people on these places.I was around 9 years old at that time. Ghandhiji used to call me ‘Nepali’ with love. Whatever vision and planning I used to present before him, he used to consider about it with great respect. In his ashram Bhajans were sung during prayers. There was an explanation of each and every chakra on the basis of kundalini in those Bhajans. I gave him proper order of bhajans to be sung, telling him right from the primordial principle to the stage of Christ , ‘Allah oh Akbar’ etc.,etc. were also part of it. He also used to have Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Mumbai (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Bombay (India), 14 February 1988. This part was spoken in Hindi Today we are all come together to celebrate the Shiva Tattwa Puja.  Nowadays, in Sahaja Yoga, what we have achieved is by the Grace of the Shiva Tattwa.  Shiva Tattwa is the ultimate goal (establishment, completion) of pure desire. When the Kundalini gets awakened in us, pure desire takes us near and keeps us at the Shiva Tattwa. Beyond Shiva Tattwa is the safe refuge of the Atma.  The new dimensions of the Spirit are slowly seen and start working out.  And when a man is fully engrossed (absorbed?) in the Shiva Tattwa, he gets surrendered without doing anything.  Kundalini Shakti is the reflection of Adi Shakti within us and Shiva Tattwa is the light of the almighty (Paramatma).  Like as there is a small twinkling light in the gas lamp, and when the gas comes into it then you can see the light.  But before you cannot notice the gas passing through.  For this it is necessary that the Kundalini should be awakened.  When we have the sensation of (can feel the?) Kundalini then the light shines out. For this it is necessary that within you there is Kundalini awakening and then this light is there. Today I have given a new example so that we could understand.  In its own place Kundalini can do no work.  Just like a gas, it cannot do anything on its own.  In this way the twinkling also cannot do Read More …

Public Program Sangamner (India)

1987-12-22 Sangamner Public Program (Marathi) [Translation of original Marathi speech to English] I humbly bow to all true seekers, followers of divine power of god almighty. This gives me an immense satisfaction with the kind of visible progress noticed in Sahaja Yoga within very short span of time at Sangamner. Kundalini science and chakras have been secret sciences. King Janaka gave Self-realization to Nachiketa only, Lord Indra had to accomplish Self-realization himself, and these are one or two examples of bygone ages. History also reveals that very few persons got Self-realization then. But saints and sadhus visited many times for their endeavor in India, especially in Maharashtra, and they tried different ways and means to persuade people that without self-experience, they have got nothing. As a blind that does not have vision, similarly until human meets his Spirit, he cannot recognize the truth, the absolute truth. At the most, by following religion, human can become a well behaved person, but no matter person being follower of any religion, any cast or having any crust, he can indulge in conducting whatever sin, nobody can stop him from doing so, because the power which can stop him is residing in his Spirit and that Spirit yet to be enlightened in his attention and hence human does not have any capability to unleash himself from temptations of sins. Sahaja Yoga has many benefits, but most importantly, a person cannot achieve completeness; self-experience can accomplish completeness. Unless the Spirit is enlightened in our attention, Read More …

Devi Puja: Attention on Quality Rahuri (India)

1987-1220 Puja: Attention on Quality, Rahuri, India [English translation from Marathi] (Sound cloud – Sahaja Library – 1987-1220 Talk 1 at Rahuri (Marathi)) Does having a namesakes, caste and creed have any meaning? Today I am telling you all plainly that you should not (live on) freebies (“फुकटखोरी”). Sahaja yoga is not for such people who are looking for freebies, if you want freebies, you should take another path. Those who want to stay in Sahaja Yoga have to live with self-esteem (“आत्मसम्मान”) and have to show the world that we are self-respecting people. Why take contributions, means what? Should Shri Mataji pay for you all? I have paid for the food for people in Pune. This kind of begging attitude will not work and such beggars are not required in Sahaja Yoga and those people who cannot (use their hands to) work should leave Sahaja Yoga. Your collective state can never improve because the vibrations flow through your hands. When you use your hands to work only then your collective state will improve. Today you have built a temple, tomorrow you will build something else, there you need to use your hands to build them. How many of you came to Pune to work with me? You need to use your hands to work. You need to use hands for hard work. The big people who have come from UN Agriculture (department) have taken shovel and spades in their hands to do the work, but no one came from Read More …

Devi Puja Alibag (India)

Welcome Talk at India Tour, Alibag (India) 13 December 1987. Welcome to all of you. This is a great country, it is also passing through a crisis. Nowadays I feel there are so many things that are happening which you could never dream before and at this time you all have arrived bringing peace and joy to all of them. So I thank you for that. The strife and the pain which is on human beings is perhaps because they are not yet worthy of God’s blessings, still as God has created them He tries to do His utmost to see that human beings are kept comfortably all right on this Mother Earth. He creates all kinds of beautiful things that you see and the whole cosmos is in unison and working out something very great today. This new revolution that has started, very, very silently, today it is taking its shape and is providing a new future for all of us. You see those big, big trees, that are on top of your head and as long as you are sitting here no fruit will fall upon you. It’s not because I am here but because this Mother Earth knows that there are such great saints sitting here and She is not going to disturb. This place was called as Shrigaav [gaav means village – SG] I was told, means the village of the Goddess and this fruit is called as Shriphal [phal means fruit – SG] meaning the Read More …

Conversation during Indian music recital YWCA Camp, Pawling (United States)

Conversation during an Indian music recital, “find the lost American seekers”, 1987-08-06 I am really overwhelmed, really overwhelmed by your love and devotion.May God bless you. You don’t know how happy I feel to be with you here. And I have been rather very upset about the future of America, the way things are moving. I’ve been thinking what should we do? Should we take all the Sahaja Yogis from here to India and settle there? [Applause] Or bring more Sahaja Yogis from abroad to strengthen you here? It’s very sad that there are so many Americans whom we have not been able to locate and that they are lost somewhere. You have to find means and ways of bringing them. After seeing you I see a great hope. I hope all of us put together, we will do something great. We will be able to get some more and more Americans. How many times I have been here? But was difficult. Let us see what we can do. I do not know if they have scheduled Me to come this year again.  If they have, I might come for 2-3 days to San Diego again and we may have a nice public program here. But first of all, you all have to prepare yourself. You have to be very, very much embedded in Sahaja Yoga, just like lotuses. So that people feel the fragrance of your presence and they come to achieve their Self-realization and to enjoy life as you all are enjoying. You have to pray for it, you have to Read More …

Birthday Puja Mumbai (India)

Transcript and Translation Birthday Puja 1987-0321 [English Transcript] Shri Mataji (in English): The way you have greeted Me today, it is beyond words to express the joy of a Mother. Today you have celebrated it in a Western way and I am very happy about it. All over the world, your brothers and sisters are celebrating My birthday. You all have to think about them. Also, the way we are sitting on a chair, on a Puja day is a very novel thing. Something very new to us. But this I had to do many a time in other countries. So somehow, with this atmosphere, I am not missing them much. I thought they are sitting among you, expressing their love. It is very hard to talk on your birthday to people who love you so much. That is such a rapport that One feels it is better to be quiet. To feel all the delicate, beautiful, silent expressions of love. I do not know whether I should thank you for all this. Normally, that is done. But never a Mother has been so much felicitated. So I do not know what a Mother has to answer. All this love that is expressed here. [Hindi Translation] (In Hindi): You have greeted Me today, I greet you as well. All over the world, one does not know in how many places, your Mother’s birthday is being celebrated. About that, I have to say, they are also sitting among you here, giving Read More …

Makar Sankranti Puja: Carry The Sun With You Residence of Madhukar Dhumal, Rahuri (India)

Makar Sankranti Puja. English part and Marathi part, Rahuri (India), 14 January 1987. Today is the day where we celebrate the change of the axis of the Sun and that He moves towards the tropic of cancer. Tropic of cancer is the one which represents the motherhood, the motherhood of the earth. This tropic of Cancer has passed through quite a big area of land while the tropic of Capricorn has not. And the area through which it has passed, it has created different beautiful manifestation of the motherhood qualities on this earth. We celebrate this change because the Sun has now moved into the new dimension so that all over the world there will be the warmth of the Sun. Warmth of the Sun represents the warmth of God’s love. This is the reason why we celebrate this festival by giving you some sort of a sweet made out of sesame seeds. Sesame seeds are given because they are also heat giving and now as we are coming from the cold, we come to the hot season in a way, hotter season, so to prepare you with that warmth of the Sun these special things are made out of the seed of sesame to represent the oncoming warmth and the warm of the sun. Though in India the heat is too much, still people are waiting for this time to come in and they celebrate it with such a warm heart. At this time it is said that they Read More …

Public Program Satara (India)

Public Program, translation from Marathi Seeing the work of Sahaja Yoga in Satara district, I am feeling extremely joyous. It has also been a very great work of establishing 15 centres in Satara district. This is the land of Shri Ramdas, who was the incarnation of Shri Hanuman. The fruits of his flower-like work are seen now in the fact that there are 15 centres over here. There were many saints in this Maharashtra and all the things they said can be seen by us in Sahaja Yoga. First of all they had said that a Sadguru is one who gives you the connection with God. Not the person who takes money from you and who cheats you.Man should have only one aim – Self-Realization. Unless and until you get your Self-Realization, I cannot say anything to you. It will be better to remain silent. This is what Gyaneshwara told finally. That’s because without Realization, your eyes are closed and if your eyes are closed then whatever faith you have becomes blind faith. There is no meaning to this blind faith. Now I am told that there is an organization trying to remove superstitions (blind faith). That’s a good thing as I had been talking about this for some time but we have to see whether the people who are trying to remove these superstitions have lost their blindness or not. In order to even see who has blind faith and who hasn’t, one needs to have the sight. How can a Read More …

Christmas Puja Pune (India)

Christmas Puja, Pune (India) 25 December 1986. [English Transcript] Today we have all been waiting to celebrate the birth of our Lord Jesus Christ. There’s so much significant that we are in a place here, the same type of a hut Jesus had when He was born, and the wind was blowing from all sides and it was difficult to keep the room very warm, though if it is correct He was not born in the month of December, in a warmer month, not so very cold, maybe this much as you see; so maybe that the climate of today is quite significant, with the climate that He must have felt. As for you people, you don’t feel any discomfort in this climate, nor in these surroundings nor in the Spartan living. He never felt any discomfort, nor His Mother. When our attention is on our Spirit, then we do not feel the discomfort of nature or of worldly things. This is the first sign when a Sahaja Yogi starts complaining about comforts, then the first sign is that he is not a Sahaja Yogi as yet. To begin with you just get absolutely acclimatized with the climate and enjoy the style, the speed, the way it is molding you. There’s no friction between the nature and the body because the Spirit which is synchronizer, helps you to become one with this nature and enjoy the best part of it. The way you are enjoying it shows that you are Read More …

Diwali Puja Pune (India)

Diwali Puja (Hindi/Marathi). Pune (India), 1 November 1986. Ask them to stop bursting the firecrackers, otherwise how can I talk? [English Translation from Hindi] On this auspicious occasion of Diwali, we have arrived here at this Punyapatnam (Pune). Since time immemorial, the festival of Diwali has been celebrated in our country. However, the ‘Deepavali’ (arrangement of lamps) of Diwali started with the beginning of Sahaja Yoga. The lamps that were lit during Diwali used to get extinguished in some time. The next year, Diwali would be celebrated by putting oil and a wick in a new lamp. In this manner, every year, new lamps used to be bought. The speciality of the lamp was that at first, it would be put in water and made completely wet and then dried so that the lamp does not absorb the oil in it. It then used to burn for a long time. But we have been celebrating the Diwali of the heart since Sahaja Yoga started. The heart is the lamp which has the wick and we light it by putting in the oil of love. But before putting in this oil, we have to cleanse the heart completely of all impurities and then decorate it beautifully. When this love is firmly established in our hearts, then the heart does not absorb it. When someone loves you, for example, at first your mother loves you, your father loves you and then some others also love you, you absorb that love within yourself. The Read More …

2nd Day of Navaratri, Shri Gauri Puja Pune (India)

1986-10-05 Navaratri, Shri Gauri Puja (Hindi/Marathi) First, I will talk in Hindi and then in Marathi language. All of you should try to learn Hindi as it is our national language. [Hindi Translation] The name of Pune is famous in the Vedas, Puranas and many other such places. It is called as Punyapatnam. The river which flows in this place is called as Mula river. It has been flowing here for thousands of years and is making this place full of punyas. We do not have a complete knowledge about punyas. Many people feel that if we give something to the poor, distribute some things, tell the truth or have certain desires then we get punyas. Maybe this collection of punyas takes place but it is like filling up a lake drop by drop. The meaning of punyas that is known is doing the work by which God is satisfied and becomes happy. We should do such works. A person who does this kind of work is really Punyavaan (one who has punyas) because when he pleases God, then God’s blessings fall upon him and he gets punyas. The powers of God which flow into such a person create something like a new consciousness or a new personality or a new status in him. This new status is such that when this person goes to any house, any country, any place, there the blessings of God start raining down. It is as if he has an umbrella and those who come Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Pune (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja (Marathi). Pune (India), 8 March 1986. This punya nagari is called as Pune but in our scriptures, it is known as Punyapatnam. The Punyas of the entire world are flowing through this Punya nagari and you all are the carriers of those punyas. It is a great divine coincidence that you are having the puja of Shri Shiva who is the source of Punyas in this place. Unless and until a person gets the Shiva Sthiti (state of Shiva), unless and until he gets his Self-Realization, he exists like a blind man. Any human belief is illusory like a shadow and man spends his entire life holding onto and following that belief. Until one attains the Atma Tattva, he cannot know the essence of the world. Not only that, he cannot know the essence of even his daily life and daily routine. This Shiva Tattva (Essence of Shiva) is reflected in the heart of every human in the form of the Spirit. Without knowing this reflection of the Spirit of the Universe which is in the heart, we cannot understand even the thread that binds the Creation. We keep walking in the dark and do not understand each other, do not recognize each other and do not have any understanding that is absolute. We are under illusions in that darkness. To get this Absolute Experience, we have to take to the Spirit. Only the Spirit can give us this experience in each and every nerve of our body. Read More …

Makar Sankranti Puja: a little advice about the growth within yourself Rahuri (India)

Sankranti Puja (English and Marathi). Rahuri, Maharashtra, India, 14 January 1986. English Transcript – First video Please be sited. Today is a sad day for you people, we’ll be now parting. I may not be able to meet you in Bombay. Maybe for a year this may not happen for some of you, and I would like to give you a little advice about the growth within yourself. It is believed by people that God is helping us and we are in His kingdom. So whatever happens He looks after us. It is true But as you are the instrument of the God you have to also look after yourself. For today’s delay I would like to apologize but the delay comes because from Poona Mr. Kulkarni was to come and see us do this puja. Now I told him- he’s come now- that his wife is a negative lady, and he doesn’t understand his own importance, I would say. As a leader you must understand your importance. And another person who came, he asked, “Why don’t you come with me?” He said, “I have to come with my wife.” And that’s how this delay has taken place because he’s not here. He said he’ll come for puja so the main thing was first to arrive here in time without a negative force pulling him. So we conclude that it is important that first of all we should know that in any way we should not try to have any Read More …

Shri Mahalakshmi Puja: Ascent Is The Main Attention Sangli (India)

Shri Mahalakshmi Puja. Sangli (India), 6 January 1986. I hope you all enjoyed your stay in Ganapatipule. The problem was that we could not arrange the cooking nearer your stay when you were here to walk a lot. But that walking was, I think, quite nice and must have helped you. It’s good for diarrhea and other problems that you have. Actually, I had seen the place but I hadn’t seen the, all the hostels and residential places. But for your information now somebody has donated Me one acre of land free, free of cost, next to the sea on the other side. It’s beautiful. And you should all send him a letter of thanks for that. So for next year I’m sure we can organize something much better, in a much more collective way. Now the next tour is going to be, as you know, via Pune, Rahuri, Akluj. And these places are of more importance to us, because Rahuri is a place where My forefathers ruled, so it’s a very powerful place, because they were great Devi bhaktas. Also all the Naths, like Machindranath, Gorakhnath, all these great evolved souls called as avadutas who were incarnations of the great Primordial Masters, worked in that area. They are the ones who talked of kundalini to begin with, openly. Then Pune, as you know, is called as Punyapattanam, is a very holy place since ages. And then you’ll be going to a place called Nira, which is a river named Read More …

Shri Mahaganesha Puja Ganapatipule (India)

Shri Mahaganesha Puja. Ganapatipule (India), 1 January 1986. Today we all have assembled here to pay our respect to Shri Ganesha. Ganapatipule has a special significance because He is Mahaganesha. The Ganesha at Mooladhara becomes Mahaganesha in the Virata, that is the brain. That means it is the seat of Shri Ganesha. That means Shri Ganesha governs, from that seat, the principle of innocence. As you know very well, it is placed at the back, in the region of optic thalamus, optic lobe, as they call it; and it is the giver of innocence to the eyes. When He incarnated as Christ – which is in here, in the front, at Agnya – He said very clearly that “Thou shalt not have adulterous eyes.” It’s a very subtle saying, which people don’t understand what is the meaning of the word ‘adulterous’. ‘Adultery’ means impurity in a general word.  Any impurity in the eye “thou shalt not have”. It’s very difficult. Instead of saying that you get your realization and clear your Back Agnya, He has said it in a very short form, “Thou shalt not have adulterous eyes”.  And people thought “It’s an impossible situation!” Because He was not allowed to live long – actually His public life is limited to three-and-a-half years only – so whatever He has said has a very great significance, that your eyes should not be adulterous. When there is innocence there is no adultery. It means there’s no impurity. For example, with our eyes, Read More …

Devi Puja Brahmapuri (India)

Devi Puja. India Tour, Brahmapuri (India), 27 December 1985. Shri Mataji: Ask her. Nathalie, come here. Join hands with Danya. Are you all right, Ray, now? Put kumkum to everyone. Just take that, see, you can leave that here. All the ladies, put it on. [Cut in the video] Yesterday one boy stood up and asked Me a question, that: “When we are such a yoga bhoomi, we are such a holy country, why is it that all the discoveries in the science are made in the West?” “Very good question,” I said. I said: “That is the knowledge of the tree, as I have told you; that’s the knowledge of the tree. And what have they achieved is now the end of it, and now they want to know the knowledge of the roots. That’s why they are here.” So to know the knowledge of the roots, first of all, we must have humility about it. We have not known this knowledge yet, never known what is in the Kingdom of God. As Krishna has said, this tree grows downward and the roots are in the brain – clearly. So it is an ascent to go to the roots, it’s a different style. Kundalini has to rise upward to go to the roots, and to enter into the roots what we have to do is to know about it. Now all these things, like I said yesterday that you put on “bindi”. Now this is also – thank God, Read More …

[Mother is conversing with Sahaja Yogis in Marathi and Hindi. Sahaja Yogis are inaudible]. Shri Mataji: Yes? Not that. I have not got any money. Is that so? Tell them we will get it to their home. Is he their brother? Whose? It is so, that nothing has been agreed about the money yet. Tell him we will come to their house and give it. How much? Sahaja Yogi: [Inaudible/Fifty thousand]. Shri Mataji: Fifty? That is too much.  [Other Sahaja Yogis have arrived]. Shri Mataji: Where is Nima? Come on, let everyone come. Call the wife, the mother, it has to be given to them. Sit, sit, but the dance (program) is over.  (To the dance performer): Come, nice, excellent. Very nicely performed. Keep growing in the future. Concentration is good. You are also good. Whom did you learn from?  Now, please accept these “phoole tar phoolachi pakli” (Marathi saying, “petals in lieu of a flower”, meaning a small token of appreciation). Such a beautiful program. Puja: The Purity Inside Dr Sanghvi's House, Nashik (India)

Puja in Dr. Sanghve’s Garden, Nasik (India), 17 December 1985. This place Nasik has a special significance. Long time back, say about eight thousands years back, when Shri Rama went away for his exile, he came to Maharashtra and he passed through various places and he settled down in Nasik, this place, with his wife. And here a lady who was actually the sister of Ravana, called Shurpanakha, she tried to entice Shri Rama. Now this quality of enticing men or enticing women are really demonic and that is how people call them ‘rakshasas’. Because those who are demonic people are people who are by nature aggressive, full of ego [and] want to overpower everyone. And they feel quite satisfied if their ego is satisfied. So all the people who were like that, were called as ‘rakshasas’ in this country. It was not a normal human behaviour, according to them. So these rakshasas were more living in the northern part, northernmost part of India and they have different categories as described. So those who run after women were called by some other name and where the women try to dominate them are called by some other name. Where the men try to become like women there’s another name. But they were never called as human beings. They were called as ‘rakshasas’ or ‘vetalas’ and all other names. But nowadays you find such a confusion that you don’t know whom to call what! (laughing) But the human beings in those days Read More …

Shri Bhoomi Devi Puja: The Land of Yoga Vaitarna (India)

Puja on the shores of Vaitarna river, India Tour, December 15th, 1985 English Transcript We have come to the land of Yoga and in Yoga one has to receive the blessings of peace and truth. So this land is the land where peace must reside. And you are the one who are going to create that atmosphere of peace, here and abroad. The nature in this land, or in any land, is very congenial to the divine happenings. First they told me that in this place it will be very cold and all of you will have to wear sweaters, but when I came here I was really perspiring. So how nature has also welcomed Me! In India, it being a very unsophisticated, simple and ancient country, the vibrations are felt with great ease and it has maintained its holiness. But the people from this country, who believed in the holiness of the atmosphere, by leading a holy life, have taken to many things which may not keep the same level of holiness. Never, in the history of this country also, so many saints have opted on this holy land.Today you all have come here to enjoy the gift, the warmth of the love of the Divine, and also to emit and manifest that love in your own country. I have to request you for one thing, that the culture of this country is bound by the spiritual consideration, by the consideration that ultimately, we have to ascend. Of course, now Read More …

Birthday Puja: Keep your heart clean Mumbai (India)

Birthday puja, Bombay, 21 March 1985. [Shri Mataji speaks in Marathi] Greetings to all Sahaja Yogis of Maharashtra. Because of your goodwill, [friendly attitude towards other people or country], we have won the campaign at Australia. Sahaja Yoga has spread all over in Australia. Lots of people had come and they were of a great quality. In few days Maharashtra has to play a bet with Australia. Such a situation has arrived. The difference between them and us is that we are straight people, Sahaja Yoga sows quickly in us as we get it easily, we pick up Sahaja Yoga quickly, we acquire it easily and it sprouts in us easily. However, we should have incomprehensive [in-depth] knowledge about Sahaja Yoga. People think that if we do meditation every day and keep silence than we have in depth knowledge about Sahaja Yoga. But we have to think that once we have in depth knowledge then what to do? Once you increase the light within yourself then what to do? Why, to enlighten others, to do well [good] to others. So, the Sahaja Yogis of Maharashtra have a challenge, the way Australians work hard, in the same way we have to work hard, then only you will win the bet. We have lot of blessings of past life, because of which we are born in such a great country, especially in Maharashtra, but we should still remember that this blessing will work out for how many days? We have to add Read More …

Devi Puja, Republic Day Pune (India)

Republic day puja, Devi puja, India tour, Pune, India, 26/01/1985 (English/Marathi) English Transcript Today we have arrived in a place which is regarded as he holiest of holy cities, in all the Shastras it is described as something very heavenly. So the people who are born here, must be people of great achievements and of great punyas. [Shri Mataji laughs]And to add to all the glory of this place, today is the day of our independence, the Republic day of India.Today the occasion is so great that on this day I should be worshipped because the essence of all the manifestation, all the material worlds of the world is India. India is the essence, the rest of it is all the manifestation of the essence. So, to celebrate the Independence of this country itself is great fortune of many people today, that they should worship me on this day. It’s a very deep rooted country, deep rooted into its traditions and its understanding of life. It’s one of the most ancient country where people have been searching the truth since long. The roots of all philosophies were born in this country That’s why most of the Incarnations took their birth in this country. Or ended up their life here like Moses and Christ. On spiritual life, I would say that time has taken its stone, we have had all kinds of sufferings and dominations because of the spiritual understanding and bearing power we have. That’s representative of what many saints have suffered Read More …

Devi Puja: On Leadership (Morning) Rahuri (India)

Talk about leadership, Rahuri, Maharashtra, India, 22nd January 1985. (English/Marathi) Rahuri is a place where a rakshasa called, demon called Rahu was killed by Goddess. And this is the place where my forefathers reigned as kings, and they had a dynasty also. Now, the other place we went to, Musalwadi, is the place where the Goddess first of all hit him with a beam, so it is called as Musalwadi. It means a beam, ‘musal’ means a ‘beam’. So this is a place where [the] Goddess has done a lot of work. There is another place called Aradgaon where he was running and he was screaming, so it’s called as arad. ‘Arad’ means ‘screaming’ (‘gaon’ means village). So the whole place is already very much vibrated because also the Nathas, the nine Nathas — we saw one Kanifnath there — but all of them lived in this area and worked very hard. The last of all, Sainath, was very near here, as you know, in Shirdi. So this is a very, very holy place and a place of great worship where many a times the Goddess was worshipped. Rahuri itself, if you go round, you’ll find there are nine deities sitting there. These are also created by Mother Earth. They are beautiful things. No one knows about them. You can go and have a look. There are nine of them and these represent the nine incarnations of the Goddess, or nine styles of the Goddess. Now, in this beautiful place Read More …

Public Program: Prapancha and Sahaja Yoga Doctor Antonio Da Silva High School, Mumbai (India)

Public Talk (in Marathi). Dr Antonio De Silva High School. Dadar, Bombay (India), 26th Nov 1984. I bow to all of you who are the seekers of truth. TODAY’S SUBJECT IS “PRAPANCHA” AND ‘SAHAJ YOGA’. FIRST OF ALL LET US SEE WHAT IS THE MEANING OF WORD “PRAPANCHA”. ‘PRAPANCHA’ , “PANCHA” MEANS ‘FIVE’(CINCI), THE FIVE ELEMENTS THROUGH WHICH OUR EVOLUTION TOOK PLACE. BUT “ PRA ” WORD IN FRONT OF IT CHANGES ITS MEANING. IT MEANS THE LIGHT OF FIVE ELEMENTS “ PRAPANCHA”.( PRAPANCHA ALSO MEANS MARRIED FAMILY LIFE) “ Avghachi Sansar Sukhachakrin” ( I shall make the whole world joyous) this joy we should get in Prapancha. You cannot find God except Prapancha. MANY PEOPLE IMAGINE THAT “YOGA” MEANS TO GO TO HIMALAYAS AND SIT THERE TO DIE OF FREEZING COLD. IT IS NOT YOGA. IT IS ‘HATHA’( OBSTINACY/ INCAPATINARE). IT IS NOT EVEN OBSTINACY BUT LITTLE STUPIDITY. This imagination about Yoga is absolutely wrong. Specially in Maharashtra all the saints were married. They practiced Prapancha. Only Swami Ramadasa did not do Prapancha. But in “Dasa Bodha”( Marathi scripture by Saint Ramadasa) ..Prapancha is flowing in every page. Leaving Prapancha , you cannot find God. He said this many times. To find God by leaving Prapancha has been the imagination of people of our country since ancient times. This is the reason why Buddha left Prapancha and went to Jungles and got self realization there.. But even if he would have lived with family, he would have got self Read More …

Public Program Rahuri (India)

Sarvajanik Karyakram Date : 22nd February 1984 Place Rahuri Hon’ble Chairman of Rahuri Factory Mr. Sarjerao Patil, as well as the directors of the Mitra Sangh Sanstha, all the Rahurikars and backward class people who have gathered here, I do not feel comfortable saying so. Because they all are my children. Hello everyone! I had a sudden meeting with Dadasaheb once and I realized then that this man really cares for people. He who does not have compassion for others should not become a social leader.  Those who have not done social work should not enter into politics. Those who have done social work, if they come into politics, they will have compassion for the people. But most of the people do social work so that they  come into politics and earn money. I know it all. I have seen the condition of our country since childhood. I am probably the oldest among you all. My father is also very religious, a very high class social worker, national worker and again very friendly, very friendly with Dr. Ambedkar! It was a close friendship. He always visiting to our house.  I know him (Dr. Ambedkar) since childhood.  I used to call him uncle. So the relationship with them is very close. And he was very bright and generous. My father was a Gandhian and this was a bit against Gandhiji. Then they used to argue. Despite the conflict, there was great friendship between them. Very friendly! When my father went to Read More …

Shri Chandrama Puja Vaitarna (India)

Shri Chandrama Puja, Vaitarna (India), 18 February 1984. [Shri Mataji speaks in English] To organize. Yes, but I praise Indians very much and I also praise with you. But we have certain very bad qualities, and one of them is that we are very extremely untidy people. Our aesthetics are so horribly made that we don’t understand the difference between a plastic bag and a silver jug, such jumbled up things we have. And I think I would request you to insist on arranging things yourself, because then they will pick up and learn things that it is to be done. You have to learn a lot of things from them, but they have to also learn some things from you, and they are very important things. Because it all makes coefficients, it makes an atmosphere and a pleasing thing for the gods. But this is the character of an Indian, Indian character, that whatever is wrong where, whatever is the condition, carry on. See no evil, speak no evil – it’s like that. If anything is bad, let it be as it is. Let it rust, let it absolutely till it becomes so rotten that it is going to fall on your head, then you may put a little support. That’s our character. We’re too tolerant with everything, and that has led us to this kind of incapacity to work. But if you see the Ritambhara PrAgnya, see the Ritambhara PrAgnya, how she works, how she beautifully does everything, Read More …
