Mahashivaratri Puja: Guru Pad Pune (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja, Pune (India), 15 February 2004  [English to Hindi Translation] Today we are here to do the Guru’s puja The Guru is praised more than the Deities and the Gods Who is this Guru? In this, which is the most important shakti? The Guru tattwa is the Shiva. The form of the Shiva’s power we should consider as the Guru’s power. Because when we take the powers from the Guru’s shakti, and when the shaktis come within us then we ourselves become the Guru And with this, we are blessed for the whole life (Kalyan). The one who gets these powers, it seems he has got all the blessings (kalyan). “Kalyan” is a word which is very hard to explain in a few words. “Kalyan” means to get blessed from all the sides. the obtain joy from all the sides. When someone says that in the blessings you have got the Kalyan, what does it mean? What is Kalyan? Kalyan means Atma Sakshatkar, the Self-Realisation. Without the Self-Realisation, you cannot have the Kalyan. Nobody can understand without having it. All these things are in the Kalyan. Because of this a person gets all the joy, and he becomes radiant. To have this Kalyan, whatever you have to do you have done it all, whatever efforts you have to make it has all been made, the faith which you have to take, you have already taken it. But when you are all in the “Kalyanmarg” (Path of Kalyan), when he Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: He is forgiveness personified Pune (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Pune (India), 16 March 2003. Today, we are going to worship, Shri Shiva, Sadashiva. His quality is that, he is forgiveness personified. The amount of forgiveness He has, has helped many of us to exist, Otherwise this world, would have perished. so many would have been finished, because you know what is the condition of human beings. They don’t understand what is wrong, what is right. Apart from that, they cannot forgive. They go on making mistakes, doesn’t matter, But they cannot forgive others. This is what we have to learn from Shri Sadashiva. [Translation from Hindi] Today we are going to worship Shri Sadashiva. His specific nature is that, His capacity to forgive is so much, that no human can compete with Him. He forgives all our mistakes. If He doesn’t, the whole world could have come to an end. Because within him there is a power, with which He can destroy the whole creation. Though forgiveness is His inherent quality, this power of distruction within Him, is active and keeps growing. This same power, with which He forgives, when it matures or rather when it grows in abundance, He can destroy the whole world also. So first of all we need to acquire his quality of forgiveness. For small, insignificant and forgivable matters, We keep fighting. We fight over very petty, unimportant subjects. But He is forgiving to the extent that, He keeps forrgiving until, He reaches the point, From where, the distructive powers within him Read More …

Shivaratri Puja House in Pratishthan, Pune (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Pune, India 28-02-2003 [English translation from Hindi] His biggest Quality is forgiveness. If he doesn’t forgive, then nothing will be spared. He is very forgiving and because of his forgiving nature, we are surviving. ….Such Mahadev we should ask him such qualities as forgiveness, his nature, powers, characters and despite such qualities he is full forgiveness, he takes into consideration that we are humans and he forgives. We should learn that. We cling to small petty things and fight. This is not Mahadev’s puja, if you follow him then forgive everyone. Everyone one has some faults instead of looking at their faults look at your own. There was time when there were many forgiving people but now don’t know people get angry easily and are non-forgiving and they are not ashamed of it. But if you worship Shiv and take him as your Guru then you have to be forgiving. He has such powers that he can destroy anyone yet he so forgiving. Many people worship him to seek forgiveness “ Oh! God Forgive us” but he is all-forgiving. His forgiveness has magnanimity. Those who cannot forgive cannot be Sahaj yogis. The proof of a Sahaj Yogi is in forgiveness from inside from heart, he does not calculate what wrong has been done to him. Forgiveness is like ocean and to take that ocean inside oneself then only Mahadev will be established inside us. But I see that we get angry first not forgiveness. If you do not know Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Try to weigh every step that you take Pune (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Pune (India), 17 March 2002. Tonight we have gathered here to do Shri Shiva Puja. Those people who have a clean heart can only do Shiva Puja. Those whose heart is not clean cannot do Shiva Puja. It’s a simple principle of Shri Shivaratri. As you have seen yesterday, we have snakes, or, these are horrible snakes guiding behind the Shiva Linga. The significance is this – those who are clean in heart, who are full of love for others, are always guarded by the power of Shiva, which are the snakes. It’s a symbolic thing, to say, very symbolic. But I must say that animals understand Divine force much better than human beings, much better. Because they have a clean heart. Whatever is their lifestyle built by nature, they carry on with it.But there’s no malice, there’s no jealousy, there’s not all these mean things in their heart. They do it because it is supposed to be.But the quality of human beings is only one – and that is how much they love and forgive.Loving capacity of human beings are such by which they conquer all their negative forces – they can, easily, see that it’s not good to have all these qualities, or maybe that they understand it’s not noble to indulge into all these inhuman behaviour. They are not bound to indulge into all these things. Neither they are asked to be, but suddenly they get lured by such things which has got hatred, jealousy and greed. You see Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Destructive Power of Shri Mahadeva Pune (India)

“Destructive Power Of Shri Mahadeva,” Mahashivaratri Puja, Pune (India), 25 February 2001. Today we are here to celebrate Mahashivaratri. It’s a very great privilege for all of us to understand about Shri Mahadeva. Unless and until you have got your Self-realisation you cannot understand what is the great personality, the character and the powers of Shri Mahadeva. It’s not easy to conceive – also to reach the depth – of His greatness unless and until we are humble. We have to be very humble to reach at the lotus feet of Shri Mahadeva. As you have seen that one has to cross even the Sahasrara to be at the lotus feet of this Great Personality. He is beyond, beyond our conception, but He resides in our hearts as the Spirit and is reflected very well when you get your Realisation. But still one has to understand the powers of Shri Mahadeva; which is not very easy to describe about this great God in little words. But the first power He Himself has [is] that He is a very forgiving God: He forgives; He forgives us so many of our sins, so many of our destructive activities, our horrible mind which tries to create problems for everyone, up to a point! But He has the greatest power to destroy. His destruction comes so suddenly because He rules all the elements. All the elements He rules: He rules the Mother Earth, and He rules all other elements. Through their causal, He rules. Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Pune (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Pune, India, 5 March 2000. First, I’ll speak in English language, because we have so many people from foreign countries, and especially from Madras (Chennai) and also from Kerala, Hyderabad and Bangalore. All these people have come here, and I don’t know what other people are here, who have come from South and who do not yet understand Hindi language. This Shivaratri has a special meaning, I think. Because there is so much – if you read any newspaper in the morning, such horrible news is there about the people who are trying to create all kinds of violence, corruption and immoral behaviour. You are surprised how, these days, it is so full of all these criminalities going round us. This is the time, as if come, for the “Taandav nrutya” [ताण्डव नृत्य, cosmic dance] of Shri Shiva. Otherwise, one feels things cannot improve. It is His anger, if it starts, throwing wrath on people of this character and this type. I don’t know how anyone can save from His wrath. He’s a God who is full of love, full of tremendous compassion, but also the another extreme of very destroying character. He can destroy the whole world. He can finish all the creatures that have been created if He gets into a temper. You all must be knowing the story, how He went into ecstasy. There was a devil who had taken a form of a child. And a Mother cannot kill the child, She cannot. And Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja New Delhi (India)

1999-02-14 Mahashivaratri Puja Talk Hindi English, New Delhi, India, [English translation from Hindi] First, I‘ll speak in Hindi language and then in English language. Today we have assembled here to worship Shri Maha Deva, Shri Shiva Shankar. In the name of Shankarji, many organizations have come up in this world. Because of Adi Shankaracharya’s emphasis, worshipping ShivJi became very popular among people. And in South India, two types of sects came up: one which were called Shaivites, and the others were called Vaishnavites. Now Shaivites are the worshippers of Lord Shiva, and the Vaishnavites worship Lord Vishnu. In our country we are experts in creating divisions. We divide the Deities as well; and when we try to integrate them, then things become even worse. For example, a new thing has come up, called Ayyappa. It is a very wrong thing. And in that it is shown, that when Lord Vishnu assumed the form of “Mohini”, then she got a child from Lord Shiva. How is it even possible? Such wrong ideas are created and widespread in our country, and then different beliefs groups are formed based on these ideas. When Indians find some or other reason to fight, they become very happy. If they have nothing to fight over, then, they create something from their own imaginations. Actually these two aspects are connected with each other as sun is with sun light, word with its meaning, moon with the moonlight. Meaning that the “Sopan Marga” which is there, which we Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: eleven rudras New Delhi (India)

Shivaratri puja (Hindi Translation & English part) Delhi (India), March 16th, 1997 First of all I will speak in Hindi language, and then in English.  We have such a cosmopolitan people that I do not know which language to take to. Translation from Hindi Today we are going to do the Puja of Shri Shiva.  The form of Shiva within us, is verily the reflection of Sadashiva Himself.  This form of Shiva resides in the Heart, at all times, as the Spirit.  Is there, established, immovable and permanent.  But I will not say it is enlightened.  When the Kundalini is awakened, it touches the Spirit, and then the Shiva gets enlightened within us. And that light shines on our nerves. Chaitanya is called Medhe Stithi , means the first light shining in our brain.  For the first time, the union between our Heart and our Brain takes place.  The Yoga. Under normal circumstances, man’s Buddhi (intelligence) goes in one direction, and  Mann (mind) goes in another direction.  When this Yoga or union takes place, the light which has begun to shine inside the spirit, becomes manifest or apparent, and takes the form of Chaitanya, vibrations, and flows out of the hands and the fontanelle bone area on top of the head.  You have already experienced this. What you have to know further is, that when this light comes inside us, we realise that slowly, and steadily, our life begins to change, to transform.  Our inside anger and other Shadripus (6 enemies Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Motivate your attention Bundilla Scout Camp, Sydney (Australia)

“Motivate your attention”, Mahashivaratri Puja. Bundilla Scout Camp, Sydney (Australia), 3 March 1996. Today we are going to do puja to Shiva, Shri Shiva. As you know, Shri Shiva is the reflection of Sadashiva within us. I’ve already told about the reflection. Sadashiva is the God Almighty, the one who sees the play of Adi Shakti. But He is the Father who is watching each one of His Creation or Her Creation. His support to Adi Shakti is entirely, fully strengthening. There’s no doubt in His mind about the capability of the Adi Shakti. But when He finds that in the play of Adi Shakti, the people or the world as such, try to disturb Her, or to spoil Her work, then He gets into His wrathful mood, and He destroys all such people, and maybe, He destroys the whole world. On one side He’s wrathful, no doubt, on the other side, He is the ocean of compassion and joy. That’s why, when He is reflected within us, we get our Self-Realization, we get the light of our Spirit and we get into the ocean of joy. Also He is the ocean of knowledge, so those who get Self-Realized get the knowledge of the Divine, which is very subtle, permeating into every atom and molecule, the power of this knowledge is there. His style is such that, in his compassion, He forgives even very cruel rakshasas, if they dedicate themselves to Him. Because His compassion has no limits and sometimes the Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: How To Get Detached and Ascend Castle Mountain Camp, Wisemans Ferry (Australia)

Mahashivaratri Puja 26 February 1995, Australia Today we have gathered here to do the Puja to Sadashiva. The One, which is reflected within us, is the Shiva, which is the pure Spirit. This pure Spirit within us is the reflection of God Almighty, Sadashiva. It’s like the sun that falls in the water and gives a clear reflection. Or else it falls on the stone, it doesn’t give any reflection at all. If you have, say, the mirror, the sun will not only fall on the mirror but will reflect back its light. In the same way in the human beings the reflection of God Almighty is expressed in the way your personality is. If your personality is clean and clear, innocent, then the reflection could be like a mirror. Thus the saintly people, they reflect God Almighty in the proper manner, in the sense that their own identification with wrong things is no more. When there is no such identification and when a person is absolutely the pure Spirit, then the reflection of God reflects into others. Luckily you all have got your Self Realization. That means the reflection of God Almighty is already working into your attention. The attention is enlightened by the power of the spirit. The power of the spirit is that it is a reflection. That means the reflection is never identified with the mirror or with the water. It is there till the sun shines, and when there is no sun there is no Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Surrender New Delhi (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja. Delhi (India), 14 March 1994. English Transcript It’s a great pleasure that from all over the world people have gathered to worship Shiva. Actually we should say it is Sadashiva that we are going to worship today. As you know the difference between Sadashiva and Shri Shiva. Sadashiva is the God Almighty and He is a witness of the play of the Primordial Mother. The combination between Sadashiva and the Primordial Mother Adi Shakti is just like a Moon and the moonlight or the Sun and the sunlight. We cannot understand such relationship in human being, among human marriages or among human relationships. So, whatever the Adi Shakti’s creating, which is the desire of Sadashiva, is being witnessed by Him. And when He is watching this creation He is witnessing all of it into all details. He witnesses the whole universe and He also witnesses this Mother Earth, all the creation that is done by the Adi Shakti. His power is of witnessing and the power of Adi Shakti is this All-pervading Power of love. So, the God Almighty, the Father, the Primordial Father we can say, expresses his desire, his Iccha Shakti [shakti of his desire] as the Primordial Mother and She expresses her power as love. So, the relationship between the two is extremely understanding, very deep. And whatever She’s creating, if She finds- if He finds there is some problem or there are people, human beings specially who are trying to obstruct her work, or Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Mumbai (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja, Mumbai, February 19th, 1993 (Hindi); (English part at the end; 2 mn) Hindi Translation [First video: bhajan, “Shankar Bhole Bhale” (Hindi 78); talk starts at 15:45.] We have all assembled here to worship Lord Shiva. And this puja is very important one because the final goal of human being / life is to find Shiva Tattva. Shiva tattva is beyond human mind. Until you get your self-realization, until you know yourself / your spirit (atma) you cannot know Shiva tattva. There is a lot of pomp, darkness and blind devotion spread in the name of Shri Shiva. But a non-realized person cannot understand Shri Shiva because his nature is such that to understand him first a human being has to be in such a state where all great tattva’s or qualities are present by themselves. It is said about him that he is Bhole (innocent) shankar. There are a lot of intellectual / intelligent people these days who by virtue of their intellect write nonsense and say that Shri Shiva is innocent. As per these intellectual people being innocent is useless. These days the more cunning and sly a person is he becomes that famous and popular. Then how do we understand the innocence of Shri Shiva? In today’s world an innocent person is deemed stupid. But Shri Shiva’s innocence is such that he is everything. Imagine if a person is extremely rich and he is feels disgusted (virakt) and people come and steal money from him then Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Glenrock Scout Camp, Newcastle (Australia)

Mahashivaratri Puja. Glenrock Lagoon, Newcastle (Australia), 29 February 1992. It’s very nice to see all of you here, so many of you from Australia, to worship Shiva, Sadashiva.I think this is a very important occasion. Is important, because Sadashiva, the God Almighty, who is One, is expressed on your heart as Spirit, the Shiva. We have to understand that so many people came on this earth at different times, in different countries, and they talked to different people about righteousness, that is dharma, about how to elevate yourself, and all of them have said that you have to be reborn, that is, you have to become the Spirit. They have all said the same thing because they knew, without the attention is filled with the light of the Spirit, you will not be able to understand spirituality. You have the Spirit within you, which is all the time in a witness state. Why all the religions have failed? Because they did not get their Self-Realization. They did not become the Spirit. So there’s a tremendous difference between you and all others who profess something. It looks as if they are hypocrites. They intellectualize it as you know, they explain it very well, but you can see very clearly that they haven’t absorbed spirituality. That absorption was impossible without Self-Realization. This everybody felt. Buddha went to this limit and Mahavira both, to say that, forget about God, forget about God Almighty, you just get your Self, your Self-Realization. So they are called Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Four Nadis of the Heart Chianciano Terme (Italy)

Mahashivaratri Puja. Chianciano Terme (Italy), 16 February 1991. Today we have assembled here to worship Sadashiva, which is reflected within us as Shiva, as the spirit. He is reflected in our heart, and as you have seen that the goal of our life was to achieve this state of spirit. The other day I was reading some books how it was done, this Self-realization, to know the spirit, and how people were tortured. First of all they’re asked to somehow or other deny, defy and condemn their body. Now, if the body wants to have comfort, then it was said that first try to sleep on the carpet, not on the bed. Then still, it’s not enough; then from the carpet you go to a mat – still it’s not enough. Then from that maybe, you move down to the Mother Earth, sleep on the Mother Earth. Still if the body is not alright  then you start sleeping on the stone. But still the Himalayas are far away, because Shiva resides in Kailasha. So you go to Himalayas and sleep on the ice. This was the minimum requirement. Then it was said that you are fond of good food, you want to have sumptuous food, you eat a lot, alright ; so you deny everything that you like, to begin with, all that you like. For example, Italians cannot eat pasta! Then deny that. But that’s not sufficient. After that, you start eating things which are very bitter. As in Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja New Delhi (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja (Hindi/English). Delhi (India), 9 February 1991. ENGLISH PART BEGINS FROM TIMESTAMP: 00:50:12 Today’s lecture was quite big for all of you who are here, I’m happy that you could all come down for the Shiva Puja and now as they have requested in Europe, also we are going to have a Shiva Puja on the 17th I think in Rome. They have never had a Shiva Puja in the West. And that’s why I have decided that we’ll have two pujas, though it is quite a difficult thing to have Shiva’s puja in such close proximity. Today I have told them how we have got four channels in our heart where Shiva resides, and how we have to introspect ourselves and control our attention, because in Sahaja Yoga there is all freedom to be the way you are, nothing must be sacrificed or to be given up as they were told before, to go to the Himalayas, take out all your clothes and shiver there in the cold and all sorts of things. The body, importance of the body has to be reduced. and for that you have to put your attention inward and try to find joy in everything. To put your attention inside is very easy because you are meditative. Supposing you are going by bullock cart. If a man is used to Rolls Royce he will be all the time complaining what is this nonsense, why I have to go by a bullock cart, horrible, this that…But a child Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Atmasakshatkati ki visheshtaye Pune (India)

SHIVRATRI PUJA TALK, Pune, 23.02.1990(Translated from Hindi) Today is Shivratri and today is the day we pray to Lord Shiva. On the outside, we can gain mastery on our body, its movements, the mind, ego and various functions. Whatever is there in the universe, we can know it and use it like whatever elements that there are in the earth, and what grows, we can use them. We can gain complete supremacy over all this. But this is all an outside manifestation. What we are within is the Spirit. We are Shiva. What is on the outside is destructible. What is born will die. What is created will be destroyed. But what is within, is our Atma, who is our Shiva, who is a reflection as Sadashiva, is indestructible, desireless and free. It is not stuck to anything. It is stainless. By obtaining that Shiva, and getting the Light of that Shiva, we also slowly get renounced. The outside remains as it is, but within, is the atma -permanent and indestructible, always emitting its Light. After Self-realization our life becomes Divine, auspicious and sacred. That is extremely important for human beings to attain. Without that, we cannot lead a balanced life and be truly collective. Nor can we have real love. Also, we cannot know the truth. The pure knowledge can be known only in the light of the Spirit. When one becomes enlightened by the Spirit, then his attention also becomes pure. He does not get involved in anything. Read More …

Mahashivratri Puja New Delhi (India)

1989-03-06 Shri Shiva Puja Delhi (only 12 minutes – translated from Hindi) First of all, the thing that was created in this universe was Shri Ganesha. But even before Him and also before Adi Shakti, the essence that was present, we can call it as Sadashiva Tattwa – Sadashiva. The power that emerged out of Sadashiva Tattwa was what we call as Adi Shakti. So He is the first thing to exist in this universe, still exists and shall eternally exist. It may be in a dormant state in the beginning…. No creation takes place when it is in its dormant state. But at that time of its awakened state, all kinds of creations take place and then all incarnations come and all types of works are done. Thereafter it goes into the state of sleeping, which we call dormant. So before sleeping into the dormant state, we must step into that awakened state that is the Shiv Tattwa. It is a blessing for an Indian to understand the Shiv Tattwa. Of course, it is different for the people living in India, either Indian or the foreigners, or the foreigners outside who are influenced by the western culture. But most of the simple people living in India believe that this non-destructive power is nothing but our Shiv Tattwa and the rest of it is destructive. Everything is destructive and the temptation to run after these destructive things is not wise. Destructive things are there where they need to be and Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Mumbai (India)

Shivaratri Puja, Bombay (India), 14 February 1988. This part was spoken in Hindi Today we are all come together to celebrate the Shiva Tattwa Puja.  Nowadays, in Sahaja Yoga, what we have achieved is by the Grace of the Shiva Tattwa.  Shiva Tattwa is the ultimate goal (establishment, completion) of pure desire. When the Kundalini gets awakened in us, pure desire takes us near and keeps us at the Shiva Tattwa. Beyond Shiva Tattwa is the safe refuge of the Atma.  The new dimensions of the Spirit are slowly seen and start working out.  And when a man is fully engrossed (absorbed?) in the Shiva Tattwa, he gets surrendered without doing anything.  Kundalini Shakti is the reflection of Adi Shakti within us and Shiva Tattwa is the light of the almighty (Paramatma).  Like as there is a small twinkling light in the gas lamp, and when the gas comes into it then you can see the light.  But before you cannot notice the gas passing through.  For this it is necessary that the Kundalini should be awakened.  When we have the sensation of (can feel the?) Kundalini then the light shines out. For this it is necessary that within you there is Kundalini awakening and then this light is there. Today I have given a new example so that we could understand.  In its own place Kundalini can do no work.  Just like a gas, it cannot do anything on its own.  In this way the twinkling also cannot do Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja Pune (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja (Marathi). Pune (India), 8 March 1986. This punya nagari is called as Pune but in our scriptures, it is known as Punyapatnam. The Punyas of the entire world are flowing through this Punya nagari and you all are the carriers of those punyas. It is a great divine coincidence that you are having the puja of Shri Shiva who is the source of Punyas in this place. Unless and until a person gets the Shiva Sthiti (state of Shiva), unless and until he gets his Self-Realization, he exists like a blind man. Any human belief is illusory like a shadow and man spends his entire life holding onto and following that belief. Until one attains the Atma Tattva, he cannot know the essence of the world. Not only that, he cannot know the essence of even his daily life and daily routine. This Shiva Tattva (Essence of Shiva) is reflected in the heart of every human in the form of the Spirit. Without knowing this reflection of the Spirit of the Universe which is in the heart, we cannot understand even the thread that binds the Creation. We keep walking in the dark and do not understand each other, do not recognize each other and do not have any understanding that is absolute. We are under illusions in that darkness. To get this Absolute Experience, we have to take to the Spirit. Only the Spirit can give us this experience in each and every nerve of our body. Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja New Delhi (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja Date: 17th February 1985 Place Delhi Туре Puja Speech Language Hindi  On this auspicious occasion of Shivaratri, we have gathered, and it’s significant that every time Shivaratri happens, I’m usually in Delhi. The most important thing in all our bodies, minds, intellects, egos, and everything else is the soul, and everything else depends on it externally. In the soul, we see the reflection of our Father, the Lord. Yesterday, I told you about the soul. That same soul is of the form of Shiva. Shiva signifies that which does not change, that which does not manifest that which remains fully integrated in its own place, which is described as immovable, unbroken, infinite. Today, we are worshiping that Shiva within ourselves. He is reflected within us. Through the awakening of Kundalini, we have come to know Him, and the more His light shines, the more illuminated our consciousness becomes. But it is very necessary to pay attention to this Shiva. To be completely open towards Shiva, to be fully taken in His direction. It is essential for us to understand what preparation is required for Him. Just like you put a flame in a lamp, but if the lamp is not capable of containing that flame within itself, then all is in vain, all the effort will be futile. If something comes within us that we cannot bear, then we will be the ones at fault. We are still very inexperienced about this that its brilliance, its beauty, affects Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Detachment & Enlightenment of Brain Pandharpur (India)

“Detachment & Enlightenment of Brain,” Mahashivaratri Puja, Pandharpur (India), February 29th, 1984 So now, we all have arrived, it’s all right. Now, this place has been chosen because they said that there are lot of horrible people the other way round. Still, we are having their problems. [Laughter] All right. You see, you must know these are modern times, and modern times have lots of complications. (Translation from Marathi: “Has everyone arrived? I will first speak in English, then in Marathi. As these people can’t understand anything otherwise, and that won’t be proper”.) In these modern times, a place which is supposed to be a holy place becomes the most unholy place. It’s such a topsy-turvy condition these days. And when we are trying to establish something very fundamental, it’s like a little seedling that has to come out of the stones, you see. It has to fight lots of things, so we have to keep our brains intact and be sensible about everything, and try to see what we can achieve through our patience and understanding – is very important. Today, I think is a very great day for all of us because this place is the place of Viraat, of Shri Vitthala. Is the place where Shri Vitthala appeared to a devoted son and when he asked Him that, “You better stand on a brick”, He stood there. And they say that He stood there waiting. Some people say that the statue that we see came out of Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Shiva Tattva Within Us New Delhi (India)

Shivaratri Puja. Sahaja Yoga Temple, Delhi (India), 11 February 1983. I am happy that you all have adjusted yourselves in this small space. When there is love and understanding, little space can occupy many hearts. But when there is no large heart then whatever one may get is just never sufficient. Today, we are going to worship Shiva Tattwa within us, principle of Shiva. For all Sahaja Yogis it’s very important, because Shiva is the ultimate we have to achieve. Shiva is represented in our Spirit, so to become Shiva is the ultimate aim of everything else. The rest of it is all created, like Vishnu Tattwa and Brahmadeva, just to create human beings, to evolve them and then ultimately lead them to Shiva. That’s the ultimate. But human beings get so involved into the Brahmadeva’s Tattwas that even to get into Vishnu Tattwa is difficult. They get involved into the five elements which have created us. That is the outermost being within us. All the chakras have the outermost, we can say the, just the vessel, but the desire to be the Spirit is of primal importance in Sahaja Yoga. So, we have to see inward towards ourselves as Sahaja Yogis, “Do we have that desire entirely, or we have still many desires hanging around?” You see, the greatest problem is of the Nabhi chakra, whether it is in the East or the West. Some people still have hankering for the baser search of food, which is very surprising, Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: What makes Mother pleased? New Delhi (India)

Mahashivaratri Puja, New Delhi, India, February, 22th, 1982 Today is the day when we celebrate Mahashivaratri. Is a great day, or we should say great night. This puja should have been in the night. Is a great night when Shiva was established on this earth. Because that way Shiva is eternal. So, one would say that, “Why Shiva?” like a birthday of Shiva you can say or something, “How can it be?”, because He is eternal, He is all the time there. So, what demarcates today’s celebration, is the establishment of Shiva on this earth. In the material self. Every matter has been created with a deity and that deity is established in that matter, as you know. So, when it was thought by Adi Shakti that first we must establish Shiva; without Shiva you cannot establish anything. First, He is to be established, because He is the absolute. So you have to establish Shiva. And now what should we do? How to establish Him? He is the God of Tamo Guna. He is the cold, He is the God of all that is not active. So first of all, this earth, when it receded from the sun, which was very hot, was taken very near to the moon. The moon is the brother-in-law of Shiva. So it was taken so close to moon that the whole earth got covered with ice. And it was then gradually moved towards the sun. When it was moved towards the sun, gradually, then Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: The importance of Shiva Pune (India)

Puja in Pune, Maharashtra (India). 26 February 1979. [Marathi to English part] Today on the occasion of Mahashivratri I am going to tell you the importance of Shiva . You have to understand it. Even though Shri Bramhadeva created this creation and in that creation [UNCLEAR] and evolution we got human birth and this human form is given to us by the power of Vishnu Even so, this human being has to attain the principle of Shiva Finally Vishnu also has to worship Shri Shiva hence is the importance of Shiva. Shiva Tattva (Principle) is our spirit. all this effort, all this evolution is for knowing that principle which is Shiva Tattva, Shiva Tattva is the Primodial Tattva, it is the principle of Sada Shiva, it is Eternal, and from that all the other principles came out and human beings were created. Now human beings should know that Shiva who wished to make this creation and create humans beings in it and those human beings should know God, Have his power and should be engrossed in the joy of that power and in his work and he also wanted human beings to experience it This has happened through Sahaja yoga. Even if you received your Realisation through Vishnu Tattva, what you obtain is Shiv Tattwa. This Shiva principle flows from the hand and we feel it as a Chaitanya Lahari(vibrations), this is the yoga you have attained Shiva has put his power, that is Shiva Shakti, we call it Mahakali Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Sat-Chit-Ananda New Delhi (India)

1977-02-16 Mahashivratri:Sat Chit Anand, Delhi, India How much blissful day it is today, that on the day of Mahashivratri, all of us are singing Shiv Stuti collectively. Shiva, infact Sadashiva is the beginning of this creation and ends in Him. First of all if you understand Bramha, from Bramha, Shakti and Shiva, as within a cell is its nucleous, the same way Shiva and Shakti establishes first of all within Bramha. How did the creation take place, how did this event take place, how did Bramha, appear in the form of Shiva and Shakti, all this I will tell you on Saturday and Sunday. But when this Shakti while coming out of Shiva moves around in the form of a paraboly, when it takes one round, then each universe is created. Many such (pradakhshanas) were taken by Shakti. I will tell you about it later. Many universes were created, many Bhuvanas were created and destroyed as well. Shakti creates universe after separating from Shiva. Shiva only witnesses. He goes on seeing Shakti’s play. If He cannot understand Shakti’s play, Then He can sucks in His own Shakti, whenever He wants. The whole play comes to an end. Only He is the seer(Drashta). He is the one who sees this play. Only He is the enjoyer of this play. This play is because of Him only. So, if He does not exist, the whole play comes to an end. He is the state. It is because of Him only that there Read More …

Mahashivaratri Puja: Utpatti – Adi Shakti aur Shiva ka Swaroop Mumbai (India)

1976-02-29 Mahashivaratri Puja: Utpatti – Adi Shakti aur Shiva ka Swaroop, Mumbai I told you about origin first because on the day of Shivratri when we have to talk about Shiv ji, then it begins with creation therefore He is the beginning. When the first form of God Almighty manifests- when He becomes resplendent with Brahma, then He is called Sada Shiva. That’s why Shiv ji is considered to be the beginning. One can understand that before a tree takes its complete form, one has to look at it in its form as a seed. It is in the form of a seed. Therefore, Shiv ji has great importance. After His manifestation, His own Shakti [Energy] assumes its form and is then known as Adi Shakti. Then this Adi Shakti enlightens the three forms of Parmatma [God Almighty] separately, that you know of, they are Brahma, Vishnu and Mahesh meaning Shiv Shankar. Adi Shakti sieves through the 3 aspects of the same diamond. During the time of ultimate destruction, when all the created creation, all the manifested world dissolves and incarnates as the Brahma, even then Sada Shiva remains unaffected. He is related to that part of God Almighty that never incarnates, that who is a non-being. All the powers of God that incarnate are from His being, the ones that don’t, are from the non-being that stay with Him. In all this, the position of Sada Shiv is the same as that of a diamond that even when broken Read More …
