In this, which is the most important shakti? The Guru tattwa is the Shiva. The form of the Shiva’s power we should consider as the Guru’s power. Because when we take the powers from the Guru’s shakti, and when the shaktis come within us then we ourselves become the Guru And with this, we are blessed for the whole life (Kalyan). The one who gets these powers, it seems he has got all the blessings (kalyan). “Kalyan” is a word which is very hard to explain in a few words. “Kalyan” means to get blessed from all the sides. the obtain joy from all the sides. When someone says that in the blessings you have got the Kalyan, what does it mean? What is Kalyan? Kalyan means Atma Sakshatkar, the Self-Realisation. The amount of forgiveness He has, has helped many of us to exist, Otherwise this world, would have perished. so many would have been finished, because you know what is the condition of human beings. They don’t understand what is wrong, what is right. Apart from that, they cannot forgive. They go on making mistakes, doesn’t matter, But they cannot forgive others. It’s a very great privilege for all of us to understand about Shri Mahadeva. Unless and until you have got your Self-realisation you cannot understand what is the great personality, the character and the powers of Shri Mahadeva. It’s not easy to conceive – also to reach the depth – of His greatness unless and until we are humble. We have to be very humble to reach at the lotus feet of Shri Mahadeva. As you have seen that one has to cross even the Sahasrara to be at the lotus feet of this Great Personality. First, I’ll speak in English language, because we have so many people from foreign countries, and especially from Madras (Chennai) and also from Kerala, Hyderabad and Bangalore. All these people have come here, and I don’t know what other people are here, who have come from South and who do not yet understand Hindi language. This Shivaratri has a special meaning, I think. Because there is so much – if you read any newspaper in the morning, such horrible news is there about the people who are trying to create all kinds of violence, corruption and immoral behaviour. You are surprised how, these days, it is so full of all these criminalities going round us. This is the time, as if come, for the “Taandav nrutya” [ताण्डव नृत्य, cosmic dance] of Shri Shiva. Because of Adi Shankaracharya’s emphasis, worshipping ShivJi became very popular among people. The combination between Sadashiva and the Primordial Mother Adi Shakti is just like a Moon and the moonlight or the Sun and the sunlight. The other day I was reading some books how it was done, this Self-realization, to know the spirit, and how people were tortured. First of all they’re asked to somehow or other deny, defy and condemn their body. Now, if the body wants to have comfort, then it was said that first try to sleep on the carpet, not on the bed. Then still, it’s not enough; then from the carpet you go to a mat – still it’s not enough. Then from that maybe, you move down to the Mother Earth, sleep on the Mother Earth. Still if the body is not alright then you start sleeping on the stone. But still the Himalayas are far away, because Shiva resides in Kailasha. So you go to Himalayas and sleep on the ice. This was the minimum requirement. Then it was said that you are fond of good food, you want to have sumptuous food, you eat a lot, alright ; so you deny everything that you like, to begin with, all that you like. On the outside, we can gain mastery on our body, its movements, the mind, ego and various functions. Whatever is there in the universe, we can know it and use it like whatever elements that there are in the earth, and what grows, we can use them. We can gain complete supremacy over all this. But this is all an outside manifestation. What we are within is the Spirit. We are Shiva. What is on the outside is destructible. What is born will die. What is created will be destroyed. But what is within, is our Atma, who is our Shiva, who is a reflection as Sadashiva, is indestructible, desireless and free. It is not stuck to anything. It is stainless. By obtaining that Shiva, and getting the Light of that Shiva, we also slowly get renounced. The outside remains as it is, but within, is the atma -permanent and indestructible, always emitting its Light. After Self-realization our life becomes Divine, auspicious and sacred. But even before Him and also before Adi Shakti, the essence that was present, we can call it as Sadashiva Tattwa – Sadashiva. The power that emerged out of Sadashiva Tattwa was what we call as Adi Shakti. So He is the first thing to exist in this universe, still exists and shall eternally exist. It may be in a dormant state in the beginning…. No creation takes place when it is in its dormant state. Nowadays, in Sahaja Yoga, what we have achieved is by the Grace of the Shiva Tattwa. Shiva Tattwa is the ultimate goal (establishment, completion) of pure desire. When the Kundalini gets awakened in us, pure desire takes us near and keeps us at the Shiva Tattwa. Beyond Shiva Tattwa is the safe refuge of the Atma. The new dimensions of the Spirit are slowly seen and start working out. And when a man is fully engrossed (absorbed?) in the Shiva Tattwa, he gets surrendered without doing anything. Kundalini Shakti is the reflection of Adi Shakti within us and Shiva Tattwa is the light of the almighty (Paramatma). Like as there is a small twinkling light in the gas lamp, and when the gas comes into it then you can see the light. But before you cannot notice the gas passing through. The Punyas of the entire world are flowing through this Punya nagari and you all are the carriers of those punyas. It is a great divine coincidence that you are having the puja of Shri Shiva who is the source of Punyas in this place. Unless and until a person gets the Shiva Sthiti (state of Shiva), unless and until he gets his Self-Realization, he exists like a blind man. Any human belief is illusory like a shadow and man spends his entire life holding onto and following that belief. Until one attains the Atma Tattva, he cannot know the essence of the world. Not only that, he cannot know the essence of even his daily life and daily routine. This Shiva Tattva (Essence of Shiva) is reflected in the heart of every human in the form of the Spirit.
